The friendliness of the staff.

I am comparing it to all my stays there. I liked it better when it was not renovated. The renovation that was done compromised the quality of the rooms. First of all, let's talk about the bathroom. They installed new towel racks that cannot fit a full-size towel. In order to make the towel fit the towel rack you had to fold the towel in half. There was no hand towel rack in the bathroom so you needed to hang it on the towel rack, but there are only two racks so if there are two people in the room, you would have to compromise which towel is going to be on the rack. The tub is deeper than before the renovations but now that is a lip/shelf in the shower that hinders the ability to shower without having to bang your elbow or arm on it while showering. The bathroom sink seemed smaller. The area around the sink is also small so it does not conveniently let you put your toiletry bag on it. The closet does not have a door on it so people coming into the room can view your belongings. Before the renovation, there was a counter with a sink and a mirror in the room. That is now gone. The counter and sink were really convenient when getting ready because one did not have to wait for the bathroom if someone else was getting ready. Now, there is no mirror except in the bathroom so you will need to look at yourself in a smaller mirror. The beds were so much more comfortable before the renovation. OMG! My daughter and I did not have good sleep due to the beds being uncomfortable and the air conditioner being so loud. We turned the air conditioner off so that we could sleep but in the middle of the night we needed to get up to turn it on because we were hot and sweaty. The pillows were okay, bu we needed to use two, which we normally don't do. Another thing that is gone due to the renovations, is the big table which I would always use to do my paperwork. Although I was not working, I usually do some kind of paperwork while in the hotel room.

ハワイにサーフトリップで7泊しました。クイーンベッドの寝心地は最高で、清潔で大満足です。しかも安い！！ 地元のスーパーが歩いて行ける。周りに沢山あって便利！ ルームクリーニングが4日に1回なのも良い。綺麗なタオルが沢山用意してあって快適です。 朝ごはんの5ドルがすごく助かりました。 日本語の話せる男性の方に、ハワイのお茶、手作りジャム、パパイヤの漬物を食べさせてもらってとても嬉しかったです。もう一度お礼が言いたかったけど、帰国の飛行機が朝早かったので会えなかった。親切にしていただき、ありがとうございました。 ハワイに行く時はまたパゴダホテルに泊まりたいです。

The hotel has a local down-home vibe that is welcoming and friendly. The guests were a mix of staycationers and tourists. The room was nice and clean though nothing fancy with everything we needed. We were there for the KawaiiCon as were others. The hotel is in a great location within walkable distance to Don Quiote, Walmart, Ala Moana Mall, Youme grocery/bakery/coffee Cafe, and the Convention Center.
