Bay Viaduct Motor Lodge

The Bay Viaduct is in a great location for a stay in Timaru - close to Caroline Bay and the main shopping street. The bed was very comfortable and the room was large and had all the facilities we needed. The spa bath was lovely but did take a long time to fill. Even though we were close to the main road the traffice noise wasn't an issue. On the down side one of the touch lamps did not work properly (which I advised reception but it did not get replaced). There was only the ability to have all the lights on in the room and we felt it would be nice to have a separate option to light only the kitchen area.

Very well maintained and presented property, ours was a modern large spacious room. Good location. Nothing at all to fault which in itself is often rare these days. Would return without hesitation.

This was a good place for our stopover. The office person directed us to see penguins at dusk. We were able see a few penguins at the pier rockwall.

Great location and comfortable

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment style room with full kitchen, dining area and bath on the third floor. We were welcomed and had a nice chat while checking in. Room was clean and comfortable and appreciated the full kitchen for in room dining. While the hotel is located on a busy street we did not notice any major noise to speak of. While not in the downtown business district the hotel is super convenient to walk through the park to Marine Parade for possible blue penguin sitings.
