"Could have been better"

I had a 2 night stay, upon arrival all guest services were pleasant. Once I entered my room the bathtub was dirty, the blankets on one of the beds was stained and 2 pillow cases were on the floor. The bottle of complimentary wine was not the same as labeled bottle on welcome card. Decided last minute to take a boat ride with the family for the first time we tried following the map but got lost twice our phones died so we went a bit over the payed hour so they charged us a whole other hour . Overall for the money payed we should have at least had a guide the first time . I was more tense than relaxed most of my stay here which was unfortunate because I came here to de-stress. It's a beautiful place though, wish my experience had been a more pleasant one

Welcoming and friendly! From the moment we entered Balboa Bay Resort we were treated with warm greetings, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very bright and very clean. We would recommend this resort!

All I can say is if you can get the Harbor view room I highly recommend it! Beautiful views of the harbor, watching yachts and crew teams sipping my morning coffee on our balcony was a highlight. The staff onsite is the nicest group of people we have ever met. Valet, front desk, bellhop, and the concierge all exceeded expectations. I have stayed with my family at a few luxury resorts in the Newport Beach area and Balboa Bay Resort is hands down our favorite of them all. We will be back guaranteed.

"Private equity already ruined this place"

Private equity firm, Eagle Four Partners, has come destroyed what made this place great. Don’t both anymore. It’s too late. Hotel director, Cindy, is powerless. Cuts to staff and wages are painfully obvious. Here’s all you need to know. An employee accidentally kicked over my elderly father’s cane, knew it, then opted not to pick it up until I confronted him.
