Granville Island Hotel

The location was the only thing we liked about this hotel, we found the front desk staff rude and unhelpful. We arrived at 8.30pm straight off an international flight from London. We wanted to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine and were told that the restaurant and bar closed at 8.30pm and were no longer serving. For an international hotel this is just crazy - there is no room service either. The front desk staff seemed to have no idea about the local area and when we asked where we could go the lady on the desk had to google a place to send us. Again this is such poor service, if you're not going to be open to serve your guests when they arrive then at least know where to send them. On check out when I came down with my bags and asked if my taxi had arrived the man on the desk replied with - it's not 6.30am yet, it was so rude, I hadn't checked my watch (it was 6.20am). When the taxi did arrive he didn't tell us, luckily I decided to go out and found it waiting. The hotel is old and tired, the restaurant and bar really need to be open later in a hotel of this size and location. If they aren't open later then they at least need room service. The only thing going for the hotel is its location - it's right on the water and the views from the restaurant over breakfast are lovely, But I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere, this really isn't worth it Disliked · Front desk staff - very rude and unhelpful Gym - has a jacuzzi in the middle of it and no air con, so it's 29 degrees in there to work out Rooms - are old and tired, really need modernising Bar and Restaurant - close at 8.30pm

Great location, nice to be able to walk around the area with cute shops.

Parking feels a little pricey

I found the staff Very Friendly and helpful!

The air conditioner/ heating unit was Noisy

Delicious breakfast, great location and very friendly and helpful staff

there needs to be a space outside where you can sit and have a drink without having to have food as well

Location

This hotel has the most amazing location. We spent two nights and were able to enjoy all the shopping and restaurants without having to drive anywhere. The rooms are basic but clean. We had a small view from our window. The restaurant has an amazing view but the waitress we had both days for breakfast was just ok. One morning two of us were served coffee in dirty cups (mine had visible lipstick stains). I would stay here again based on location alone.
