Granville Island Hotel

Location is fantastic - within easy walking distance from Granville Island Market. The room was clean and fresh and the standard king bed was literally the most comfortable we have ever slept in. And the bedding was nice and soft. A wonderful night's sleep. We enjoyed using the hot tub. We were able to sit outside at the restaurant for breakfast and there was a big variety of food available on the menu.

Staff is exceptionally nice, but lack of parking and accessibility makes this a very mid experience. Very expensive for what it is and after walking around Granville Island for a day or two, you’ve gotten your fill.

Lavatory coffee maker in the room minor detail. Went to Dockside Cafe first cappucino instead. Great view abd coffee.

Paying for parking and the room had a view of the carpark as room rates are not cheap.

Location, atmosphere, staff, restaurant, hot tub. We received a complimentary bottle of wine, treats and a card for our wedding anniversary which was a plus.

The Hotel was in a great location. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable and had great facilities if you wanted to use them. Loved how the room service staff left a chocolate and bottle of water every day.

The Hotel itself is a little old and tired looking. Didn’t really have enough room to put two large suitcases. We stayed 5 nights and had to leave our clothes in our suitcases as there was no storage space to put anything. The balcony was too small. It had two chairs and a table on it but couldn’t fit two people. One person could sit sideways on a chair. Had half a beautiful view of the marine dock. Just thought it was way overpriced.

I love the location. The staff was polite and helpful.

Well, considering that I stayed the previous week and the espresso machine was broken for 3 days, I was delighted to find out it was repaired, only to be disappointed again, to find out in the morning you ran out of coffee beans. Ridiculous. The fact that the manager was unaware of this on the morning, and thought his staff should have done something is also ridiculous. There are at least 10 coffee places in the market, all selling fresh roasted beans, he could have easily walked down and bought some until your vendor arrived with more. But, clearly, he doesn't understand the responsibilities of a manager. So, he would rather disappoint an entire hotel full of guests by saying, "we have run out of coffee beans", when he could have been proactive and bought some with petty cash, or no one would have been the wiser. Also, I am an environmentally minded person. I always opt NOT to have my bedding changed, by using the card on the bed, that tells housecleaning not to change the bedding. Although I did this, my bedding was changed. I also sleep with the window open and don't use the AC. So, they changed my bedding and then cranked the AC to 21 degrees with the bedroom window wide open. This makes no sense to me in terms of trying to save you money and then your housecleaning staff just ignore it. I did bring all of the above to the attention of the manager and the restaurant manager.

I loved the location. The room was comfortable, although the hallway could do with some solar shades, since the sun beats down on the glass and makes it very hot, which radiates into the room on the 3rd floor. Room 319. The geese had babies that were all around the hotel grounds, which was lovely. The staff was very polite.

The overpowering smell of some sort of scent in your lobby is absolutely nauseating. Less is more sometimes. The hotel decor is very dated and looks quite tattered. For the price, it should be a bit more nice. The espresso machine in the restaurant was broken for 3 days, so no espresso based drinks. I don't demand alot from a hotel, but an espresso drink in the morning is basic. Why you wouldn't have a repair person out immediately to fix it is beyond me. You filter coffee was not very nice. You don't have enough vegan/plant based options on your menu.
