No kettle or any cutlery / dishes in the room. Had to request for them. No bottled water either.

I stayed for just one night but I was really impressed with the service from the employees here, especially Preston at the front desk and Virginia from housekeeping on the eight floor January 7, 2026. Keep up the great work everyone! Mahalo & I hope to see you all again during my next visit.

Kim was very helpful with checking and very nice! She coordinated with several parties to figure out our transportation issue.

Good location

Wifi was not working for first few days so we were paying for cellphone data usage. Also breakfast lacked vegetarian options.

Location was good because it is located in a walking distance from Waikiki beach and Ala Moana center. We could take the bus from Ala Moana center when we wanted to go to different beaches. Staff members were nice and friendly.

We stayed for six nights but we didn’t get room cleaning for two days in a row even though we didn’t put up the “don’t disturb” sign. What was worse, when we came back from a long day trip to the eastern part of the island, when we left the hotel early in the morning, the room cleaning staff had put up the sign on the door knob of our door. We are quite sure that we didn’t hang the sign on the door because we hadn’t had our room cleaned the day before so who would put the sign up?

Kim at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and great housekeeping. Vallet drivers were really fast.

Very good breakfast! Excellent location at walking distance from the beach, conference center, restaurants and shops. Opening hours for swimming pool (and fitness) start at 6 am. Decent desk, excellent wifi. Kind staff, comfortable beds.

Limited availability of 1-person bedrooms (increasing cost of stay for single travelers).

Stayed here for 4 nights. Nice location. If renting a car, then there is plenty of spots around the area you can park for free versus in the hotel. Not bad stay. Nothing really memorable except for the delicious chocolate chip cookies. Laylow will always be the standard I measure to.

I just checked out of one of the worst hotels I’ve ever experienced: DoubleTree by Hilton – Alana Waikiki Beach. My expectations may have been too high given the Hilton brand, but this stay was extremely disappointing from the moment I arrived. Even the lobby looked unkempt and grimy, setting a poor first impression. The hotel was built in 1955—and it truly looks and feels like it. Low ceilings, dirty carpeting, a battered couch, a clogged bathtub drain, and a completely non-functional air-conditioning system made the room unacceptable. I should have done better research ahead of time, but I reasonably expected Hilton to offer a product people would enjoy. This was not it. To their credit, the staff was gracious and ultimately provided a full refund. However, I still wasted nearly two hours in the room dealing with issues—calling maintenance to unclog the tub, only to then discover the air conditioning did not work at all. Imagine an old, poorly maintained hotel charging luxury prices. That sums up this experience. I got out of there so quickly I forgot to take pictures.
