Americas Best Value Inn Marion, IL

My room was freezing, so I barely slept and couldn't really shower

Hotel badly needs updating. Moldy shower curtain and old, dirty carpeting were the lowlights.

Office staff is nice. The hotel is dated. Room heater barely worked. But this is a $50/night hotel and what you get is a place to sleep. No frills. Tv is static on almost every channel.

Look, it's a cheap motel. I'd stay again but the wife wants to spend more next time we come through lol.

Poor television reception. Very few channels watchable. Room not appealing at all. Went to the bar. Very noisy with very loud music. People in the bar who I assumed to be locals very rude. Terrible breakfast bar if it can be called that. Oh well you get what you pay for

The linens were clean as far as I could tell, carpet looked rough, overall didn't feel creepy. The bed has a solid spring non-box spring then mattress on top, like a kids bed might have had in the 1960's. Mini toilet but at least clean. My overall impression was America's Worst, for 95$ plus tax.
