Falta espacio para colgar cosas y el sofá está muy muy viejo

We verbleven drie nachten in dit huis. We werden ontzettend warm verwelkomt door Carlos en hadden gelijk een goed gevoel. We voelden ons gelijk thuis in dit knusse gezellige huis voorzien van alles dat je nodig hebt. Een complete keuken en grote koelkast, fijne bedden, een bank en Netflix voor een filmavondje bij regenachtig weer. Carlos liet ons allerlei vogels zien en vertelde veel over de omgeving. Isabel heeft haar atelier aan huis waar ze onder andere prachtige sieraden maakt en voor mij prachtige ringen en oorbellen op maat maakte. Liefdevolle mensen!! Vanuit het huis kun je heel goed de omgeving verkennen. Wij gingen o.a. naar de zipline en hebben de quetzal gezien in Monteverde. Niet twijfelen gewoon boeken! Als wij ooit nog terugkomen in Costa Rica zullen wij deze accommodatie zeker weer boeken.

Carlos was a fantastic host, meeting us on arrival and talking us through the facilities. There was great communication with Carlos prior to and throughout the visit. Carlos also provided some excellent tips on local resturants and sodas. The wifi was great. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. For breakfast the bakery is a short walk away and stocked with bread pastaries and eggs. A good location for a family of 4.

The location means that you benefit most by having a car as the house is slightly outside the centre of town. We found it a little challenging to locate on arrival, not helped by Waves not taking us to the right location at the start. Carlos of very responsive to messages and redirected us.

Carlos was an amazing host who went out of his way to make us feel welcome and helped with our travel questions about Costa Rica in general as well as transport to the cloud forest near by. His house is absolutely lovely. So comfortable and with everything we could have needed and lovely surprise extras of delicious coffee and eggs! It's a beautiful, peaceful location and we had such a lovely relaxing stay.

We stayed during a very windy and wet weekend. The house was dry and cozy. I don't know if Monteverde is always so windy? The lady of the house gave me a beautiful handmade pair of earrings which I love. Very hospitable and kind. They even provided us with fresh eggs to make for breakfast.

I wish the laundry facilities were free for our use.

The house is in a great location, close to the town but far enough away to feel like you’re in peace. Felt very homely and we loved looking at all the artwork around the house. There is a bakery just a couple minutes walk up the road. Eggs and coffee were supplied. We met Isabela, Carlos’ wife, who was lovely to talk to and is the artist behind the house decorations. She also made my sister a beautiful birthday fruit platter. There is a cute dog who will sit with you in the garden too

The plastic mattress protectors were a bit uncomfortable

A very neat, clean, safe and peaceful place to stay which has super friendly and caring hosts.

The host was nice at first. He had left ground coffee and eggs for us to cook and gave good restaurant recommendations. But then he told us that he wanted more money because according to him we had only booked one of the two bedrooms in the house. My reservation, however, stated that we had booked two bedrooms. He told us then that it was ok to use both bedrooms without extra charge, but later he called booking.com, who sent me an email telling me to pay an extra $30. I answered the email with what happened but received no reply. Instead, I got a new email where they wanted an extra $53, which is more than half of what we originally paid. We booked two nights but left after one since we didn't feel comfortable staying.

Bad smell to the house. A plastic cover under the sheet made the bed uncomfortable to sleep in. Tiny tiny bathroom. Only two chairs, not enough for a family of 4 for breakfast. The house had two doors into the host's house, which felt a bit uncomfortable.
