We stayed here as part of an organised hiking tour so had not had a say in our choice of hotel - but we were so lucky! The hotel is charming, styled in some ways like a mountain lodge, with comfortable and welcoming lounge and dining room and spotless, simple and inviting bedrooms - all set in an absolutely glorious spot near the top of the Berchules valley (see photo). Beyond all this though, the factor that gave us such a wonderful stay was our hosts Csilla and Alejandro - they simply could not have been more friendly and welcoming, we were treated to very generous and delicious breakfasts and substantial and tasty packed lunches and, in the evenings, Alejandro's cooking is sublime. The Alpujarra region is stunning and I can't think of any better base from which to explore it. Very highly recommended.

A very friendly, very comfortable small hotel run by Alejandro and Csilla who could not have been more hospitable and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and after long days mountain biking (with nearby Pure Mountains), Alejandro's cooking was fantastic. Exceptionally clean, comfortable beds, plentiful hot water and great showers, lovely outdoor pool and magnificent views. A 5 star recommendation and we look forward to our next visit!!

Exceptionally warm welcome to this comfortable hotel in a stunning location. Delicious home cooked food and really helpful local knowledge. Fabulous circular walk from the door and interesting village to explore; access by car, local bus or on foot.

Arrived after a long days mountain biking to this superb welcoming Hotel. Sat out watching the sun go down drinking a well deserved beer. Rooms were pretty spacious with small balconies at front. Very comfortably furnished and dark and quiet at night, so an excellent nights sleep. Very friendly staff who spoke good English, as opposed to my poor Spanish ! Had a good wholesome 3 course dinner and equally good breakfast. Great location for mountain activities and super views.

Had one of the best hotel stays / accommodation experience we’ve ever had. My partner and I travel quiet a bit and this is by the far the best experience we have had. Wendy, Alejandro and Csilla were over accommodating and made us feel so welcomed and part of the family in the 4 nights we stayed. With amazing local knowledge and outstanding hospitality we were blown away by this. The price of the hotel is beyond reasonable for what you get. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean with outstanding views of the mountains. This is an ideal place for hikers, explorers or anyone looking to get away! we will definitely be returning! thank you so much!

Stunning location, beautifully clean rooms & dining/sitting areas. Food is plentiful & of very high quality. The management & staff have everything available that you could need & are mega friendly & accommodating. Clearly they enjoy what they do. I would rate this hotel higher than 2 star but thats the Spanish system!

Wendy came out and welcomed us on our arrival. It felt like home from home. And very nice drinks after a hard day's walking! (to say nothing of delicious meals!) Rooms had very nice balconies with lovely views. There were books everywhere.

I stayed here in early June as part of a walking group. Sheila, Alejandro?, Wendy and Omar could not do enough for us. They were so friendly. My room had a wonderful view of the mountains and the bed was so comfortable. The food was freshly prepared and tasted great. It is a gem in the Sierra Nevada. It is a traditional hotel but with all the amenities you require.

We stayed here for one night at the end of a hiking trip - as soon as we walked in the door tired and sweaty we were offered a drink - and the friendly service continued from there. Our room was comfortable with a lovely balcony looking out over the hills; the outside area was great - including a grassy area by the pool (sadly the pool wasn't in use - too early in the season I'm guessing). Dinner was a bit disappointing - slightly undercooked fish and overcooked veg but maybe we were just unlucky.
