"I have no time, I will post a review in Tripadvisor when I get a chance"

2.0

The room was dull little to no natural light, they didn’t clean the room until 5:30pm each day and the day before I left nobody came to clean the room. Strong smell of fly killer spray the first night, I had to ask them to discontinue

"Beautiful Old style New England Hotel"

10.0

Fabulous location and Old New England style hotel. Rooms are small but beautiful and well maintained. I newer more powerful hairdryer may have been good and USB/C points but otherwise perfect

"Lovely setting and people; not worth the $$"

6.0

CBI is a beautiful setting with wonderful people working there. Our conclusion is that it is a 5-star event venue and beach club with a 3-star hotel attached. Rooms are dated, which I initially chalked up to part of the charm, until the toilet had to be fixed twice, one shower had mold in the corner, the curtain in the other was stained, and we could hear our neighbors through the walls. Our first night was a Sunday, and we were so pleased to be somewhere quiet and relaxing after a week in Boston. Unfortunately, the hotel was hosting a wedding, so we put our kids to bed to the sounds of Pink Pony Club blaring from the tent - not exactly what we had expected for $3k/night. We went to grab a drink at the bar a few days later, waited several minutes for eye contact while multiple servers fawned over a couple ordering drinks (influencer? Parents of the bride? I’m not sure), and then they finally looked up and waved us away (“They’ll serve you down there”…with a vague gesture toward the other end of the bar). We also were disappointed in the wheelchair accessibility. We got the impression that years ago, someone was very interested in making the hotel accessible (common areas are great, and they have a beach wheelchair you can borrow, which was part of the reason we booked), but current management is not. There was no lift at the pool. The pool manager brought out a janky wheelchair made of PVC pipes (with a broken armrest) and explained that it was technically ADA compliant because the pool is zero entry. We were to transfer to the plastic chair and wheel in and out (very difficult, given that the chair floats as soon as it hits water), and for the raised hot tub, we were to transfer to the painful, pebbly surface on the side, swing legs around, and then lift in (also quite difficult, and the lifting out was almost impossible.) As the cost of a good pool lift is equal to about 2/3 of what we paid for our 5-night stay, this was egregious and, frankly, insulting. CBI trades on its reputation for going above and beyond for guests, but that was not our experience. They did comp one night of our stay, not because the facilities were so lacking, but because they had told us they had a lift when I asked at the time of booking. I walked the pool manager through how difficult the lack of a lift made our pool experience, naively thinking that maybe no one had ever needed to use the plastic chair before, but he told me they have a few wheelchair users each summer, meaning that the hotel is content to watch people struggle rather than provide an easy option for them. He gave me the manager’s contact info so that I could provide this feedback - I left a message for him three days ago and still have not heard back. The parking lot by the pool and beach has a disabled spot that is permanently blocked by trash cans and hotel maintenance detritus. Again, it’s hard to blast this hotel because the people working there really were overall so kind, and our stay was by no means bad. And if the manager had called me back, I would have provided all of this information to him directly and maybe would have been less inclined to put it online. But there is a management problem in how hotel guests - disabled or otherwise - are treated, and for the price, there’s no excuse for that. We would love to come back to Chatham, but we will look elsewhere for lodging.

"Chatham Bars Inn is a must stay destination"

10.0

Less than a mile to walk to downtown Chatham. Great little shops and restaurants. The hotel is welcoming & beautiful view of the beach. Rooms are very clean. Some rooms are like a walk-in closet (that's only if you have one queen size bed. So beware!) Off peak season, it's worth your money. Peak season forget it. Place is very clean and spotless. Noise level is so serene and peaceful. Service is impeccable. Leave your car in the lot, walk or take the courtesy services that they provide (don't drink and drive!) Their Wi-Fi connection is fine, however, phone connection is terrible once you step outside of your room and the beach/pool area. In away that's great for me. I do not want to hear others on their phone yapping away. Overall, we had a great time.

"Lived up to the hype!"

Fantastic girls weekend! Food, drink, service were all top notch. Loved the ability to use the hotel bikes to bike into town and concierge car service made getting around easy. Definitely going to make this an annual getaway.

"Pricey stay with comfort gaps."

8.0

Overall, our experience was good, but far from matching the price point. We booked a room in one of the cottages, which was pretty well maintained and pleasant overall. The main downside is that the rooms are quite small and not insulated at all. We had loud neighbors in the room below for several hours and could clearly hear their conversations. Because of this, the stay felt a bit overrated in terms of price versus the comfort offered.

"Priority for hotel guests needed"

6.0

Beautiful location and room. Stunning area. Dining experience and "feeling special as a hotel guest" was poor. Seem to prioritise groups who are not hotel guests when eating and drinking in the hotel.
