Minshuku Asogen

夜ご飯・朝ごはんともにとても美味しく、食事の満足度がとても高かったです。 また、オーナーの人柄も温かく、滞在中とても心地よく過ごすことができました。 お風呂も気持ちよく、部屋も清潔で快適でした。全体的にとても満足度の高い宿でした。

あえて気になった点を挙げるとすれば、ドライヤーの性能が少し弱めだったことくらいです。

Spent only one night here, and disappointed not staying longer. Charming place beside a main road out of Aso. Attractive comfortable room with tea-making (ocha) facilities, sink and toilet. Shared external bath-house was very nice. Can bathe as couple/family.

Futon on tatami mat didn't provide enough padding.

The staff were so welcoming, the room was clean and the family bathhouse was amazing.

Loved the private onsens, that was a really good experience. We appreciated the nice traditional room, and the kind staff.

Futons are a bit hard when you are not used to it.

Very spacious rooms (we did book the family-sized as it was the only one left available but that meant we had lots of space). Traditional aesthetic was nice. Ample parking. The onsen was great to use.

It was a little tired, it felt like it could do with a bit of rejuvenation. En suite toilet was great but no shower, so you do have to use the onsen space to wash (which is mostly fine, but it does have specific hours of use, and we felt it would have been better if they were available for slightly longer than they were, especially in the morning).
