It smells unpleasantly of chemical cleanser. The house is very noisy. The bed is uncomfortable and makes a noise with every movement that wakes up the whole house. There was no hot water on arrival, the complaint to the cleaning staff present was ignored, after the second complaint 1.5h later via WhatsApp I was told that the hot water was on the left (of course we had tried both for about 15min). Supposedly there was hot water again at some point, but we had already left the house by then. The charge was debited twice (I had to complain again, it will be refunded, but it's annoying and I still lose something due to the transaction fees) The most annoying thing at the end: We arrived early at CDMX and thankfully were allowed to store our luggage in another accommodation (5 minute walk) until our room was ready. It was agreed that we would be notified as soon as our room was ready and WE would then collect our luggage and take it to our room. When we went to collect our luggage at 3pm, we were told that it had already been taken to our room. So we went to our accommodation and found that my personal belongings, including headphones (worth €150), were swimming in beer as a beer can in my daypack had broken during the apparently improper transportation and then emptied completely unnoticed. My backpack and clothes were washed as compensation, but this is little consolation for such damage.

It was very well located in Coyoacán and super easy to get Uber etc to go elsewhere. Very safe to walk around as a solo female. Security code to get into small courtyard and also into building. The owners are super helpful and responsive in communication when there (using WhatsApp) and stored my case for my transfer day as well. The property is quiet and other guests respect that too.

Check the size of the ensuite room you are given. Mine on the ground floor was very small - a double bed only that took up most of the floor space so would be a tight squeeze for two adults. Note back to Booking.com The description says 24hr reception which infers that someone is manning the property 24hrs (the security intercom goes thro to their home) but there isn’t anyone onsite before 7am and check in is not before 3pm. So a little confusing especially if your flight lands at 4am. The owners were brilliant tho but, yes, some more clarity would help around the check in and staffing.

¡¡Nunca volveremos al hotel Casa Hidalgo!!, desde nuestra llegada la señora ama de llaves nos atendió en la calle, nunca nos dio el recorrido por la casa y no nos explicó las amenidades, el trato fue grosero y cortante y lo peor, a último momento nos dijo que nuestro baño era compartido, casi me ve desuda otro huesped. Pésima experiencia en este supuesto hotel.

Very good location, walking distance to Coyocán centre.

The only minus is the street noise.

The check in wasn’t very smoothly, we had to wait for quite a while even though we updated them about our arrival time long before we came. The bed is very uncomfortable and squeaky. The furniture is falling apart and the whole place is very noisy. Shower and kitchen weren’t clean.
