Shiki Tofukuji

This is a lovely home. It sleeps 3 singles on futons in one room, and a double in the other room. Both are upstairs. There is a stand-alone toilet upstairs too. Downstairs is the entrance hall, the dining area and the lounge. There is a wet-style shower room and a full basin and separate toilet downstairs as well as a small galley-style kitchen. Also a washer and dryer. There is an urn -style kettle, but no coffee plunger, or tea pot. (Pro tip:There are disposable drip -through filter coffee sachets at all convenience stores) It is literally a 7-10 min walk from Tofukuji station and Tofukuji station is 1 stop from Kyoto main station...all of JR line. Bonus... the Tofukuji temple in a very pleasant 10 min walk away from the house. Worth a visit! Plenty of small family run restaurants and convenience stores in the area.

This is the ideal place in Kyoto for a 4 person family wanting to stay in Japanese style home with very comfortable beds. Would stay again.

Shower area a bit difficult to use but adds to the charm.

A lovely traditional Japanese house. Up a quiet street but within easy walking distance of the station and close to bus routes into the centre. It had comfy beds and everything we needed for a few nights as we explored Kyoto, Sagano and Uji.

Not a problem for us, but the stairs are very steep!

Un ascenseur dessert uniquement cet appartement à cet étage. Il nous fait arriver sur un pallier très étroit. Personnes avec gros bagages s’abstenir.

The facilities were great and the house was very comfortable - the beds were great too. It was really good to have a little space and get all the clothes washed etc. Nice area to sit and have a meal at home and separate bedrooms which gave our boys some 'own' space - much appreciated.

Proprietarul raspunde foarte rapid la mesaje. Este comunicativ si iti ofera toate detaliile suplimentare de de care ai nevoie. Casa este exact asa cum e descrisa pe Booking. Curat, confortabil, OK pt famile de 4 persoane. A fost extrem de cald la începutul lui iulie dar am avut plăcuta surpriză sa găsim toate sistemele de climatizare pornite asa ca ne-am simțit foarte bine încă din primele secunde.

Totul ok! Exact cum ne-am așteptat sa fie. Felicitări celui sau celor care administrează proprietatea.

Good location, close to train station and food places. Quiet, comfortable, clean and pleasant.

Nice amount of space to eat and relax plus plenty of room in either bedroom to just lay around or unpack and live normal while you are there.

Might want to bring your own pillows and skip sleeping on the futons if you can.

The main room aircon heater did not work on second night, so had to sleep in a quite cold condition
