Only 10 minutes walk into Keswick Room was ok for short stay

The noisey dull sound of the fridge running all night I get that fridges need to run but this was way too loud Hard to sleep

Located within walking distance of shops, restaurants & the river the accommodation is upstairs above a small local hotel. Our room had a comfortable bed, good shower and was quiet at night. The bar downstairs had a nice friendly atmosphere. We very much enjoyed the excellent meals we had there each night.

Steve the manager was nice Location was ok.

Felt unsafe leaving our car initially when we saw a young man eyeing up our Land Rover when we walked the dog his friend was in the other carpark on his phone..looking at the car.we did pay £15 for the dog for one night that’s ok but a daily charge like that I’ve never seen it’s usually 10-25 for the whole stay . The pub needs a makeover it was very busy inside loud noisy.. but they were waiting for the sports .. we were shown to our room by Steve.. he was friendly. He was going to book us a table even tho we hadn’t booked. Walking up to the room stairway already started to put us off didn’t seem very clean and very dated.we went into the room the bedding seemed clean. But it took us 30 seconds to decide not to stay . The room seems dated and not 100%clean it just felt like that. Then the large sounding noise vibrating over one sude of the room made the floor totally vibrate.. after ready reviews on the room Afterwards we realised this is the cooling system that was on all night by other reviewers.. we just left the pub leaving the key in the room. Just not for us. Location seems good.. Steve was nice and friendly ..I’ve ran pubs and this just wasn’t for us..

Comfortable bed. Basic room.

A short period of loud noise at the close of the pub that woke us up.

Shower had mildew all around the shower tray therfore not used could be easily cleaned with some bleach . Room smells of damp Large refrigerator outside room 3 which kept us awake most of the night
