La Chancelière

We had a fantastic stay at La Chanceliere from the moment we arrived when we were greeted by the owner Nicole with chilled glasses of Sancerre and samples of the local goats cheese. The house and the garden are both beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. There are lots of great restaurants nearby and amazing vineyards to visit. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and enjoyed playing with Nicole's dogs. We will definitely be making a return visit soon.

We have come here twice and it`s wonderful. The Little Hotel is run by the owner. A great nice place to stay. We parked 4 old Cadillacs from the 50`s inside ! You should ask for Dinner, the best we ate at the complete trip, everything home made. Perfect.

We loved the estate. Food was beyond fabulous. Nicole and Jacques went out of their way to drive us to the winery and locate a rental van for us. There were 3 couples in our group. Walking to shops that were close. I would go back just to stay there.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. When we arrived, check in was very confusing. There is no parking so we parked on the street and walked through the nearest gate. We ended up wondering around the place for 5 minutes looking for where to check in. There were no signs and we finally found the owners watching tv. They were very welcoming and friendly and showed us to our room. The back patio is beautiful and a great place to enjoy some wine and snacks (which they provide for free) in the evening. Their 2 dogs are very friendly and will keep you company while enjoying your wine. The rooms have a lot of charm, but ours was small and had no air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious in the morning. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the dogs barking. After dinner, we came back and sat on the patio for a couple hours to enjoy some wine. The owners were out and the dogs barked for about 2 hours straight. We could still hear them when we went back to the room. Overall, it was a lovely place with lovely owners.

An oasis hidden behind a plain facade. Our hosts, Jacques and Nicole, were extremely gracious and went above and beyond all expectations. The rooms were beautiful, well-appointed, and comfortable. Like something out of a movie, the terrace was beautiful, with an amazing view of their gardens and the hilltop town of Sancerre. Nicole and Jacques (and Calypso, their friendly dog) served an amazing breakfast of pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, and cheeses on the terrace. When you consider all of the complementary services offered, this bed and breakfast was an incredible value. We can’t recommend it highly enough.
