The Sanctuary Cornwall

Our breakfasts were more than adequate and delicious. The welcome was genuinely warm and friendly. The whole experience was a highlight of our three weeks in the UK.

To be honest, we did not have much of an idea exactly what to expect. Finding our way through the village proved to be something of a challenge, but once we arrived at The Sanctuary, the welcome we received helped us to relax. It was the first time we had experienced staying in accommodation that was 'off grid'. We could not have been made more welcome.

Great location, beautiful view and wonderful owners. Very clean rooms with balcony with seating. Solar panels and very environmentally friendly. Locally sourced breakfast and beverages. Highly recommended.

Karen and David were so welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean and very spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the estuary. Breakfast was delicious followed by a tour of the grounds from David which was most informative. We enjoyed staying in a sustainable property.

The steep drive up took a bit of getting used to but the view made it worthwhile.

We stayed in the barn owl studio/apartment, it was lovely! The views to the river are AMAZING and the studio itself was really spacious and nicely decorated, with an enclosed balcony area which was great for our dog! The location is very good, 10min by car to Fowey, and we like that we could walk the dog around the orchard and woodland just by the property with no need to take the car. It was very nice to see that the owners put so much care and effort into making an eco friendly type property that still has all the commodities that you would have in another stay. 100% recommend, we would definitely go back!

Fantastic tranquil location with fantastic grounds to enjoy.

The hosts Karen and Dave did everything possible to make us feel welcome. The views from the property were great. The breakfasts were very enjoyable with only the best quality food used. The room and the beds were very comfortable. Though the car park is a little way down quite a steep hill, it is not as far as the property description makes it sound. It is very hilly in Golant but then again it is very hilly in many parts of Cornwall. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely relaxing stay and the hosts were very welcoming, with fresh cake awaiting us (and special milk bought in just for us) and delicious fresh breakfasts. Our room was very comfortable and had a lovely view over the estuary.

The location, quality of the accomodation in my view and the owner's interactions could not have been better
