The Axis Moline Hotel, Tapestry Collection By Hilton

Excellent place to stay!

My Dad and I spent a few days in the Quad Cities during the holiday 2023 season and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in part of the wonderful stay we had at The Axis Hotel. Being right in the heart of downtown Moline was very convenient as we explored the metro area. The hotel layout was easy and quite comfortable from the cozy breakfasts, to the lobby lounge to the nightly drinks at the lobby bar. We enjoyed the property immensely. Our room was spacious with a wonderful bathroom. The view from the room was great too looking out over the Mississippi River and beyond. I cannot suggest staying at The Axis Hotel enough!

We chose this Moline hotel because it’s in close proximity to the Vibrant Arena where we were going to a concert last weekend. Upon arrival last Saturday afternoon, we learned that the power had been out since the night before. A three block radius was affected, so it was definitely not the hotel‘s fault. It was just bad luck. There were no digital cards on the Hilton app, nor could they give out actual key cards due to the outage. The staff had to escort all the customers to their rooms. Karen showed us up to our room and even lent us her flashlight. Our king room was spacious, very clean and well appointed. It had a little sitting area and a large bathroom as well. It was such a shame we couldn’t enjoy the hotel fully. We had to get dressed right away before the sunset so we could see what we were doing. No hot showers, I couldn’t iron my clothes or curl my hair because… well, no electricity. AND no charging my cell phone which was low on battery and had the digital tickets to the concert. Eeek! When we returned from the concert just before 11:00pm, the lights were back on. Yay! Tammy at reception was still helping the guests. There was a huge long line of customers trying to get their key cards to get to their room. The staff did the best that they could. Upon checkout on Sunday morning, Tammy was still there working to make things right. The poor girl probably didn’t get a wink of sleep. She told us that we would be getting a partial refund on our room, which has not appeared yet. I called the hotel today and they said they would take care of it. So keeping my fingers crossed. I would definitely stay at this hotel again because of the cleanliness, hospitality and spacious rooms.

Unfortunately, upon checkin, there was a power outage going on in a 3-block radius since the night before. The staff had to escort us into our room, no keys. There were no lights, electricity, hot water, and we had to get ready for a concert without ironing our clothes, taking a shower and I couldn’t curl my hair. The restaurant in the hotel where we had reservations had to be canceled because of the outage. It was a huge inconvenience and we didn’t get to enjoy the hotel because the power came on after our concert and we left early morning. At least the electricity was working late night when we got back and we did sleep in a comfy bed.

The staff were amazing and accommodating but were dealt an unfortunate hand. The power was out during our stay which was out of their control. We weren’t able to fully check in and were in town for a concert so we couldn’t get ready in our room. We had leftovers that spoiled in the refrigerator and once the power came on we had to wait in line for over 25 minutes to check in and get a keycard. The staff was again incredible and made the best they could of an unfortunate circumstance, but it really threw off our entire night. When we checked out, the staff mentioned they would be discounting the stay. We’d like to receive our discount for the inconvenience.
