I travel alone often so I like to stay at hostels. Many hostels have a bar and restaurant and pictures of social gatherings but Botanico Hostel was the real deal. There karaoke night was very fun, people singing from all over the world, the bartenders were kind and generous, and the last evening I was there they had a party on the roof with a dj. Fun times to be had. As far as accommodations, I stayed in the dorms one night and a private two nights, each room, even the dorms are attractive. The private room came with a small space heater, which was lovely as Bogota can be chilly. There are plenty of bathrooms to use, that are cleaned regularly, so if there is any wait it is very short.

The first night I was in the private room, Begonia, I didn't use the space heater provided because it was plugged into a socket that didn't work, so I assumed it didn't work. In the middle of the night I awoke to the smell of mold. I don't know about the mold situation in the other privates but, Begonia shares a wall with the bathrooms and that shared wall smelled the most of mold. Once I plugged my heater into the other socket and kept it running the smell lessened but, I was bummed to realize that that very pretty room had a moldy wall.

The best thing about the hostel is the staff - all are friendly, helpful and faultless. Location is pretty good but steep slopes or get there may be an issue. Nice bar, good laundry service and taxi booking.

Booked a private ensuite and big issues. The room is very cold with only a small fan heater with one socket in a corner meaning the room doesn’t get heated - the shower room is so cold. WiFi signal is poor and pretty hopeless for streaming. Basic room with no basic amenities eg clothes rack

The rooftop and chill area, great for meeting people without it feeling like a party hostel. Free tea and coffee. Great location and friendly staff.

Struttura abbastanza centrale nel quartiere la candelaria , personale disponibile e cortese esterno curato e molto verde anche la colazione tipica colombiana è buona ,fresca e preparata sul momento

La nostra stanza privata era veramente troppo luminosa è stato impossibile dormire perché il tetto era totalmente scoperto ed entrava luce che sembrava di essere in un solarium , abbastanza umido, bagno veramente piccolo, acqua fredda nel lavandino.
