Huge room, helpful staff, lovely shower

Single bed very uncomfortable so we had to share the double

The young boy working there was very nice and friendly, the problem is that being friendly didn’t help with the cockroaches in our bed. After half an hour talking with the boss, we didn’t have to pay our $36 stay so I don’t want to be too harsh, but I’m still writing this review because you can’t have the scores above 9 on booking and have cockroaches in all the room.

As said we spent a really bad night, it all began with a big fat cockroach crawling on top of my leg, I was in bed, scrolling on my phone and didn’t even notice, shook it off, thinking it was a simple fly, but then felt it moving quickly on my body and got pretty scared, I managed to kill it and so I had proof. I repeat this was inside of the bed, of course we couldn’t sleep well after that. They didn’t have any other rooms available so we had to stay there since it was 11pm and with a lot of luggage couldn’t look for another hotel at that time. The very nice and smiling young lad that works there was so sorry but sadly being sorry doesn’t help for those things, he’s only solution was to spray poison in the room, which does absolutely nothing to the cockroaches, and and is bad only for us… While he was in the room, another cockroach appeared, and we killed it together, so he saw I wasn’t lying, and during the evening I saw many more.

Large, light room, tastefully decorated with excellent facilities. Aircon worked very well and always plenty of hot water. The host was very attentive, always checking on us, and ready to assist with any queries we might have. The accommodation is tucked away from the busy and noisy main street( but minutes away from anything you need),therefore very quiet. We had a wonderful stay.

Wifi was patchy at times but sorted out once raised with the owner. Although very nice, breakfast was almost always the same( fresh juice, tost, jam, eggs cooked in different ways, ta/ coffee). One day out of 6, we were offered sri lankan breakfast, but this was quite basic compared with other sri lankan breakfasts we had.

The rooms were very spacious, clean and practical. We had a fridge, an AC, and were offered cleaning for no extra charge. The breakfast was yummy and the staff were amazing!

Nothing

A nice quiet place, the main road is just a 5 minute walk away. The windows of my room faced a wild garden with trees and bushes, and I really enjoyed the sounds of nature, especially during the night - frogs, crickets, birds. All you can wish for if you need a good night's sleep.

The sheets and towels are a bit worn, though well-washed and clean. The glass wall in the shower didn't work properly, so there were puddles all around the bathroom floor that would take time to dry out.

Room space, service, cleanliness all on top notch.value for money . 👍
