D'Villa Guest House

Free water, tea and coffee. Nice terrace outside. Note it is located in a suburb around 4 km from the centre/sights. I booked the Guesthouse but stayed in the Garden Villa as it was full - not a problem, in proximity and good and clear communication, also which bus stop to get down, close enough to walk from.

No card payment possible, so a bit complicated to settle the bill as I was in a rush. As the rooms open to the courtyard/terrace/sitting area, light and noise can potentially be an issue at late hour.

Dilan and his staff were absolutely amazing!! Would recommend anyone going to Jaffna to stay at this fine place and with these wonderful people

I was really satisfied with my stay here, the reputation and high rating is well-deserved. There is a very nice common area for relaxing, eating or drinking, a communal fridge which is very handy in a hot place, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The location is pretty good - realistically a tuktuk is required to get to the centre and sights, but they are cheap, easily found on the PickMe app or the friendly owners can help you organise one. The room is large and comfortable. The bathroom was decent with hot water. I was in a room at the rear of the house which actually backs on to the trainline - this didn't bother me at all because they arent that frequent, I am not a light sleeper and I like the train sounds. But if you are a light sleeper or travelling with kids, I would recommend requesting a room at the front of the house.

The D'Villa Guest House add a big + to my beautiful week in Jaffna. Any negative energies in this sweet home. Everything has been well thinking in the layouts of the rooms (only 5) and of the common spaces. All my best thanks to Dilan for the nice welcome he gave me in his guest house. He's always ready, with a warm smile, to help and suggest the right ideas in any request. I want to thanks also Hilda, the lady who take care of the rooms cleaning, for her kindness and her nice interactive exchanges with the guests. Definitely, this address is The one to appreciate fully a good time in Jaffna.

We had a lovely time here it is really well thought out , there is a lovely seating area where you can sit and relax there is also complementary tea and coffee also the use of a fridge, it has lots of artist touches the name chest place we have stayed in . The host was very helpful and spoke excellent English . The lady that helps him Hilda makes the best Sri Lankan 🇱🇰 breakfast we’ve had 😊

A typical Sri Lankan Guesthouse with a warm welcome and an untypically hot shower. Good communal area with kettle and tea/coffee Comfortable room with air con and TV although I didn't use the latter.

Nothing to dislike

Big room and very convenient common area with kettle & tea/coffee, fridge, tables, and nice terrace. Great location, quite area but walking distance to the main road and city centre. Nice services, with possibility of getting an abundant and tasty breakfast, laundry, and information about tours and activities. And what made the difference: Dylan was a great host, who adapted a lot to our logistic needs (including a last-minute extension), and both him, his dad, and Hilda took great care of us during our stay - Hilda took us with her on Pongal day, a Hindu celebration that took place during our stay. It was a very special day in their other guesthouse with also very kind Raj & team there, where we got to participate a lot and taste amazing food. Many thanks to all D's and team!
