The bed was comfortable, decor stylish and shower excellent!

Narrow dark staircase to rooms open to access from the street felt unsafe as a solo female traveller, room completely overlooked by a building site next door.

The room was large, well-designed (inviting) and very clean, the bed was amazingly comfy, and it was easy access from the high street.

Having booked a hotel which doubles up as a bar, I'd anticipated there to be some noise. I was just disappointed that, having asked for a slightly quieter room if possible, I was allocated one that felt directly above the sound system - I was practically on the dancefloor until 11.45. But you'd be fine if you wear earplugs I suppose. It was nice and quiet come the morning.

Absolutely awful night. Why don't they tell you when booking that the bar restaurant is closed to guests as private party!!! Apparently this is Young's policy. Chose this hotel as the bar and restaurant looked so inviting. Daughter was going to be doing some work, so as we had our dog thought it would be ideal to wait her downstairs with a drink and then we could have dinner together. She is disabled so cannot walk far. Arrived to be told the whole bar restaurant area was closed for private function. If they had that on their website or at least told you that when booking would never have stayed. The roof top bar was open but didn't serve food. So we were left trying to find somewhere near which would accept a dog - only place was a grim looking pub so we ended up with take-away in room. The massive amount of noise from function until 12am meant no sleep along with the huge amount of screaming and shouting people leaving it made until about 1am. When I asked a member of staff why they don't inform people when booking that the bar restaurant was closed to hotel guests she said that was "their policy." The room was very nice, but we got no sleep and had only booked it really for downstairs. Emailed a complaint and have heard nothing back

Central location, lovely gentleman checked me in and was very welcoming, good size room nicely decorated and the bed was comfy

Was a shame not to have a fridge in the room but not a massive deal
