Very convenient for New Street station!
What a dump. Dated, tatty and dirty. Tiny ancient lift. If the TV remotes was anything to go by the place is filthy. Street noise, door slamming . The pub seems to be home to some very dodgy locals. No food at all, not even a vending machine. Just enough milk for one cuppa. No USB ports. Ancient and filthy carpets, can feel the springs in the bed. Horrid smell in bathroom. Needs a complete update. Staff ok and good location but I won’t be back. Its awful. Booked via work not my choice

Great little hotel for the cost, perfectly situated for food and shopping in central Birmingham! Only gripe was the bed kept me up every hour as so uncomfortable!
Difficult to find, is located in the back streets of the station. Difficult to gain access if arriving late. Had to wait a while to be let in the front door, which was locked. Room was clean and had the usual facilities. The bed was very hard, which I found very uncomfortable. There were door slamming at all times of the evening and night. The lift is very small and antiquated. A larger or disabled person would find it very difficult, if not impossible to access the lift. A wheelchair, for example, would not get through the gate of the lift. The parking is a local car park, which shuts in the evening. It was not explained to us very well and we mistakenly parked in the NCP car park opposite the one we should have used. We were told to put our registration in the machine at the desk to get 24hr parking for £8, which we did. As we had not realised we were in the incorrect car park, we then had to pay £16 for our overnight parking. If you are planning on using the car in the evening, don’t park in the other car park. I’m not sure what time it closes but we got back around 11.30pm, and it was shut, which is why we assumed it was the NCP car park.
GBI have read quite a few reviews from other's and I must admit, I am in complete shock, I booked in on 31st of January 2025, and was on the 4th floor which in all honesty wasn't good for my mobilty, so the following day I spoke to the Duty manager called Maj and he said to me Chris I will move you to a lower floor as soon as possible, and low and behold on the following Tuesday morning he gave me a room on the first floor, and every day the cleaners knock my door to see if room requires cleaning or if I need anything, Must point out my room is clean, no mould, no damp, just to finish off with the Bar (the station) again great staff, Bar Manager, Jodie, Emma and Anne just like Maj cannot do enough for you, Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Definitely be back 💯%
