Comfort Inn Orillia

The interior was very clean; I liked that very much. They thought of everything, including sockets for device-charging located at the base of the lamps, shower curtains that were lined, meaning that the interior liner could be placed on the inside of the tub, stopping any water from splashing onto the floor. I like a dry floor, so I appreciated this very much. There was a fridge, a microwave and a percolator in the room. We did not use the TV but I liked the size of the screen. The Internet connection was very good. The room was comfortable; we had what we needed. Breakfast was good; reasonable variety even for those with food allergies and special diets. The location is quiet, so sleep was restful. The only noise we heard was from excited young people passing outside our door.

The exterior - the snow was not shoveled. I have mobility issues and it was difficult for me to walk on the neglected grounds. Even the few steps from my car to the door of the hotel were treacherous. I did notice, however, that the roads in Orillia were not plowed, even the main roads, nor were the grocery store and mall parking lots, so I thought, "Well, I'm from Ottawa, we're used to snow and the plows and shovels come out early and often. Perhaps they're not used to this in Orillia." So, perhaps the fault lies not with the hotel, but with the culture in Orillia. There was no accessible parking whatsoever (and yet there were lots of spots for vehicle-charging, including right next to the main door). The mattress could have been firmer but that could be my personal preference.

Left to early to get breakfast. Location was great. Close to plenty of restaurants. Room was clean and staff was great.

Check in took well over half an hour! If there is an event at Rama, there should be more than one person checking people in after work on Friday.
