Quality Inn Plant City - Lakeland

The area

The hotel is older, and air freshener in the wall was very strong. Let's just it was ok.

The elevator worked in the hallway it was cooler than my room.

I did not appreciate checking in and being told that my pet was not welcome because it was a cat. There was nothing on quality Inn‘s website when I reserved this reservation three months prior to arriving. They made me sign a contract before they would even let me go into a room, it took 45 minutes to check-in even though I had paid for in full with PayPal. The first room they gave us room 108 my cat spotted A German roach walking underneath the door coming into the room. They didn’t want to fumigate the room while we were in there I said no way that with my pet in there. They finally decided to move us to an upstairs room. We had to pack up both mine and my child’s belongings to move everything to the second floor room. Then the next day I was locked out of my room. The following day we are locked out of the building had to go around to get into the front. Then on check out the manager treated us like we were criminal told us that we could not go with her while she inspected the room to make sure that my cat did not leave any litter on the floor or a smell in the room. My cat is fixed, Plus I use pretty litter so it doesn’t leave any smell I know this for a fact considering that I travel with her in an RV. I did not feel that it was fair that she could go in my room by herself and inspected without me standing there. This manager was insensitive, unkind, and rude. I have stayed at many quality Inn Hotel‘s and I have never been treated so ugly as I have at this quality Inn by the manager and her staff. Other guest could here what was happening they all agreed that the cat was cleaner than half of the dogs that were staying there cause they could smell the dogs. Quality inn is supposed to be pet friendly there’s nothing that says anything about dog versus cat. The hotel worker said it’s because dogs go outside and cats go inside in the litter box. This is no excuse to treat me the way they did when the cost to stay there was about $800.

The place smells like weed from the elevator and up, the rooms were dirty the bed sheets on the first room had period blood on them and the top comforter had a wired stain on it like grease I went down and they upgraded me to a suite but when I got there this bed had poop brown stain on the sofa in the seat as greasy and nasty I left and refunded my money well not yet and hopefully it will

Fine for a one night stay but if my stay would have been longer, I would've canceled my reservation. Room was clean however. Staff was alright, did not speak a word to us, and did not make us sign any paperwork.

The room was HUMID and smelled like mold. We had a dehumidifier in the room, meaning that the staff already knew the room was basically not good to be slept in. We had a newborn with us and debated on leaving. When we turned it on the humidity was at 85% in the room, we got it down to 50% in a couple hours. The smell was horrible. We also received a phone call from the front desk at 3:00AM, which woke us up, including my newborn, no one talked on the other side, no apologizing either. Staff was borderline rude, 2-3 words interaction at check-in.
