Courtyard Memphis East/Bill Morris Parkway

The hotel was under construction for remodeling and it was an absolute mess - one TV didn't work, one had fallen off the wall and was propped up against the wall and had no remote. Our telephone didn't work so we couldn't call front desk or anybody if there was an emergency. Shit was crumbling and falling apart, no trash cans. None of the ice machines worked on any floor, the elevator was sketch and would start moving before the doors closed. We were promised a $100 credit for the inconvenience and haven't seen it a week later.

The building was under construction. No amenities were offered. The outside construction made the outside appearance horrible. It looked abandoned.

Hotel is under major renovation. It should be nice in the long run but as of now it has a long way to go. Not a typical experience that I have had with a Marriott property.

This is an older property that is currently undergoing renovations. In spite of both of those issues, I would definitely stay here again. The staff at the desk is extremely friendly. The rooms are decent with a good TV. I love that there is a chair with a footstool and light behind it. It is a smaller hotel, so you aren't going to get a huge crowd at breakfast. The real breakfast area is currently closed for renovations, so breakfast takes place in the conference room. The parking lot is small, and I felt like my car was safe there, which can be a problem in Memphis. Another problem in Memphis is that nearly every hotel is near a freeway and as a result gets the noise from the Indy 500 traffic, and this is no different. The heat and air unit is old, but the fan makes enough good noise for those who like that at night in a hotel. Good location if you are going to the Mike Rose Soccer Complex. Tip: Exlines Best Pizza is a good nearby place to pick up dinner.

Room was good. Several areas under renovation, overall, stay was good
