Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Windy Hill/Ballpark

This place is utterly disgusting. Curly long hair in bed and tub, everything is so old and gross, floors sticky, blood in grout of bathrooms. Don’t be fooled by the fancy exterior. This is worse than a Days Inn from the 1980s. Lady at front was nice and didn’t hesitate cancelling the rest of my stay when I told her I wasn’t happy with the room. She didn’t seem too surprised.

Location should be removed from the Marriott Hotel chain. As a Gold Elite member, I have stayed at many different locations from the Marriott Hotel chain. This is the worst one I have ever stayed in. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful but we had to be moved three times due to issues with our room that could not be resolved. The furniture is outdated, marked up and looking old. One room the door wall was unlocked, the window was unlocked and the air conditioner rattles very loudly. The second floor wreaked of marijuana down an entire hallway. The quality control team should be visiting this location and evaluating if it should remain in the chain.

The day before our arrival I woke up to an email confirming the cancelation of my reservation. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a very helpful agent and my reservation was reinstated. I wasn't given a clear explanation but the agent suggested that it was canceled by the hotel (not the Marriott system). When I arrived I was told that I had reserved two rooms. We had two mysterious calls to the room and heard only a dial tone (interestingly, the agent who checked me out had two hang up calls at the front desk while I was standing there). The air conditioner was very loud and 'clunked' on and off so we didn't sleep well. In the morning we looked forward to a simple breakfast but they were out of eggs, bacon, and fruit so basically couldn't serve anything on the menu (except oatmeal). I expect a quality experience at Marriott properties, and this was not that quality.

Location was close to Truist Park and the interstate. Hotel was clean and attractive. Nice pool and inner courtyard. The room was spacious.

Courtesy shuttle wasn't working. The single elevator was inconveniently located at the end of one hall. The bed sagged. Breakfast was shut down at 9:20 even though the night staff said it was open until 10:00 a.m. The breakfast selection was pitifully sparse. Morning desk staff unfriendly and not helpful.

The staff was excellent helping to solve the many problems. Tabitha and Daphney were excellent. They were the only reason I didn't lose it and check out. The manner in which they handle the roaches in my room, the missing refrigerator the washer that wouldn't rinse the soap out my clothes was commendable. I have stayed at quite a few Marriott properties and this one does not live up to your usual standards...

Where do I start ! In room 120 there are roaches living in the AC unit. At night they all started coming out and crawling up the wall and curtains. I sprayed Raid around the unit and I didn't see anymore roaches coming out. The room Daphney moved us from to room 120 had no refrigerator which I needed for my sons insulin. Tabitha help me get my laundry done properly. The staff was awesome
