Courtyard by Marriott Denver Downtown

Great home base to explore downtown Denver. Plenty of shops and food options close by. I suggest Sam's No 3 diner for breakfast. Getting to the hotel from the airport was easy. We took the A line from the airport to Union Station then the free mall ride bus to within a couple block of the hotel.

Check in was great staff was super friendly and helpful! We stayed for 4 nights and got our room cleaned once! The one day we even talked to the housekeeper and she said she would be right over and never went to clean. We went with friends and we were out of our room ahead of them and they always had a clean room to come back too. We did call down and the usually zero cares were given, but they did bring up clean towels. Location was great central for downtown easy walk or bus ride to and from Union Station.

Fittings a bit dated

Right on 16th Street where all the shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Appreciate the bedroom-suite we were in. Very spacious for a family of 4.

I stay at Courtyard's several times a month. It is my go to brand. This is the first time I was disappointed. No food service at all. No comfortable open areas to work, meet, etc. If this was my first experience I wouldn't come back to the brand. Learned I can't trust the brand - I have to really check out each property before booking. Brand Promise was broken.

The staff was extremely rude upon arrival. I was told by the girl at the front desk in a VERY rude derogatory way that smoking and pets were not allowed. Then she told me in another rude way that if she finds out there are pets then I will be charged a pet fee. The lecture was so uncalled for as do not smoke nor have pets. The next day I had to have my daughter meet me at the hotel because we were all catching a flight on the same plane at the airport that morning and a girl 👧 told my daughter that she was not allowed in the lobby and security was called on my daughter.

I did not like the prejudice that I had encountered at this place.

The hotel was spotless and the large King room exceeded my expectations all around. My only issue was that the pillows were very thin, everything else was perfect. We were very happy with the accessibility of the room and the hotel as well.

I would love to have thicker sturdier pillows. A slightly larger refrigerator would be a nice addition too.
