The older gentleman at the desk was very short and curt. My husband was admitted through the ER at Mayo Hospital. I called to confirm my reservation and to explain my situation. I also state that I had ordered DoorDash and gave my name. The gentleman at the desk refused to allow the driver to leave my food. He agreed when I spoke with him on the phone. When I asked he said "The driver did not speak English." I was out 60 and had to reorder from another place that was still open, as it was very late. Respectfully, Robin Bradshaw

One night stay that was peaceful with no complaints. The front desk was very pleasant and helpful.

Close to Mayo

I stay here every year for 6 nights because of the proximate convenience of Mayo Clinic across the street. Their food service is called The Bistro and the quality is acceptable, the coffee is good, the breakfast quesadillas excellent. BUT the service is beyond awful if you are dealing with “Sam”: surly, never lifts her downcast eyes to answer questions, unhelpful. Her sullen demeanor does not recommend The Bistro as a welcoming environment. Even before Sam worked here, in earlier years, I was aware of an unfriendly service environment. Perhaps the ‘hiring’ is at fault? Yesterday I waited 20 minutes for a black coffee, only received after asking to please just fill a cup. The rooms are a depressing grey upon grey, but my AC works great and the bed is comfortable. The ‘cleaning’ might best be described as “a spit-and-wipe”: no vacuuming of rug, forgot to replace Coffee Cups for machine, and left garbage unnoticed. Cleaning took less than 10 minutes.

Location to Mayo Clinic is excellent, breakfast at the bistro was good

This is the hotel without a heart! No smiles. No helpful individuals. Power went out in the hotel and the put flashlights on the floor in the stairwell. Of course they were no turned on. They billed the wrong charge card and it took 3 trips to the manager before he would help me correct. If at all possible find another hotel. This is old , worn out and just plain miserable!!!

Clean and convenience to the Clinic. Wonderful property on its own.
