SureStay by Best Western Brockville

The front desk person was not eager to help us. We were charged extra for needing a wheelchair accessible room. Then to be able to get to the room my husband had to shovel 50 feet of sidewalk and that was just to get us to the nexf wheelchair accessible level. The breakfast room is up 8 steps and not at all accessible that we could find, as reception seemed ambivalent to helping us.

The two behind the desk not welcoming. Walls thin. Could hear neighbours TV all night. Pillows lousy. No extra covers. Heat didn’t come up to speed for quite a while!

- Parking lot wasn’t cleared & staff said if you get stuck, you have to figure it out yourself. - Got stuck in parking lot twice - Front staff rude and tried to charge us twice - Greasy finger prints on ceiling above bed

The location

The rooms are very old and smelled like bleach, water pockets above the bed on the ceiling, washroom had yellow stains, the lighting in the washroom was horrible, the bath was discolored, patched and disgusting. Had only 2 towels which one looked like a pool towel and stained, shower curtain stained. No carpets for boots so the floor was all dirty.

Old. Paint peeling. Wood trim appeared rotten. TV did not work. Management was rude. Sheets were stained. Damage on the door frame. Hallways smelled of smoke.

The first day was okay. The second day there were no more scrambled egg and didn't see anyone refilling anything.

The first night the keys wouldn't work. The manager had to let us in. The next day I asked if the keys are working. They said yes, but they wouldn't work. Had to get maintenance to open the door. The west side door would not close so anybody could've walked right I. Didn't feel safe. Will not stay at a Days Inn again. For what we paid was not worth it.

TV didn't work with remote and /half a roll of toilet oaper

Had to switch rooms 3 times each room was dirty. Broken lights. Broken tvs. Broken heaters. Broken doors. Staff was annoyed that i kept finding issues. I just wanted a decent room and had to settle for one that still wasnt all that great

Room was dated (but clean) and weird set up with sink right next to door. The bed was HORRIBLE -- you could tell from first looking at it that there was no support. It would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car than the bed. The TV was old and not HD so channels didn't fit well in screen. TV also too high as bed was non supportive so you sit low. Realize TV not a deal breaker but when it is winter and you are confined to the room for the night you want to be able to comfortable watch TV and enjoy it -- especially when paying over $150 for the night. Breakfast was bland....little options available. Enough to hold you over until you got to a Tim Hortons. Very loud hotel...no sound proofing in walls. Felt like walking on a wooden plank down main floor hall as it was just loud under your feet. Could hear everyone around you. Doesn't help hockey tournament on so kids running in halls (which I didn't mind as a hockey dad) so if you like a quite place to relax this is not the one for you. Receptionist was overwhelmed at check in. There was a hockey tournament on in town (explains the inflated prices that night) and check in was slow. No friendly greeting at all and just went through the steps. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are looking for somewhere worth your money. I opted for this place due to budget restraints and now I am wishing I had spent a little more for something better.
