Everything was fine

The staff was awesome. I had a late check in but the gentleman was courteous and friendly, without being overly so. There was a problem with my first room. He was apologetic and gave me a new room right away. He was kind enough to make sure the second room was close, so I didn't have to carry my luggage far. Everything was clean and stocked. It was quiet and there wasn't a lot of people coming and going.

The hotel could use some updates/remodeling. The deadbolt on the door of my first room would not lock. The bathroom door if my second room would not stay closed (not an issue as I traveled alone, but could have been very inconvenient if I weren't).

Have stayed at this Executive Inn in Yanceyville for many area trips. It is close to many hot spot events and activities. The cost to comfort and available amenities is very good. It is a clean facility that has gotten better over the times I have stayed there. My first stay there was during some change-over with renovations. I have returned over and over and do recommend it. This is not a luxury hotel vacation getaway. It is, however, clean and economical and a good place to stay to be close to some area activities.

The rooms seem to have minor differences from one to the other. It's a small thing that perhaps adds to the "charm" but note the available options with the actual room to book so you get what you need. Also, no fault of the hotel, but Yanceyville doesn't have much going on. There are some restaurants and a grocery but it ain't Greensboro.

Place was not clean at all. Many roaches on the room and leftover food crumbs on the carpet. Bathroom was not clean and floor was sticky

This was the most disgusting, filthy, run down trash heap. Bugs, hair and dirt all over the bathroom, sticky floors, dust everywhere. Didn't want to risk sleeping in the bed so slept in my clothes on top of the covers.

Air conditioning worked, but was rather noisy. Price was very low for a (Martinsville) race weekend. The bed was OK, pillows were ok. We had the option to inspect the room for ten minutes and decide if it was going to be OK. There was a couch and coffee table. There was a big TV. Was able to find a wall outlet to plug in the phone charger. Light blocking curtains did a pretty good job. Plumbing fixtures were fine, clean and operational.

Room was supposed to be non-smoking, but there were ashtrays on the nightstands and the room smelled of smoke. Bathroom is so small the cleaning crew has trouble sweeping behind the door (there was debris). Door latch was fussy. We decided that we could tolerate the smell (we'd stayed there before in a different room and the experience was the same). Carpet was a bit gross, hadn't been shampooed in a while.
