Travelodge by Wyndham Waukegan Gurnee

Horrible stay and didn’t give me a refund for a room I didn’t pay for. Dirty sheets, smoking room and not good service

We stayed for 3 nights the room was just ok. It could use a couple updates like the floors could use a good shampoo and the curtains could be changed ect.. overall the room was ok. The staff could be just a little more friendly. The hotel hallways definitely could use some air and air fresheners. It smelled of all smoke and Marijuana. But it is legal there so....

The hotel smelled musty as if the entire building needed shampooed. The air unit in our room smelled when we turned it on. Walls are thin so anytime people left the rooms near by you could hear it loudly throughout the night. I had asked about a late check out option since we lived 4 hours away and they refused without any explanation.

Called ahead of time asking about upgrading my reservation to a room with a jacuzzi. I was told no at first, and then was told i would be called back. Never received a call back. Showed up and asked again for any available room's and would pay the difference. The manager accommodated. This is where the visit get bad. I askes about breakfast, as the website said breakfast included, and i was quickly reassured, "no breakfast". I explained my reservation and the website said a breakfast was included in the stay, she repeated, "no breakfast". When we open the door to our hotel room the overwhelimg smell of musty carpets was immediately present. I kept.the door open and turned on the AC. Tried to open the window but it was broken and screwed shut (this was a "smoking room" with ashtray on the end tables.. the shower curtain had mold on it. There was a cigarette burnhole on the bed, and the jacuzzi leaked water. In the morning i wss told i needed immediate inspection of this palace i was allowed to stay in before i would be allowed to check out and get my deposit back. The aggressive clerk told me to stay at the counter and that i could not come with to the room and watch him inspect it. When i asked why he explained "These are my rules!"... Needless to say it was the WORST hotel i have EVER been in (I've stayed in around 50 hotels) Please PLEASE avoid. Pay the extra $20 and go elsewhere.

Nothing to like! Worst place I have ever stayed! And I have stayed a lot of places at every price level!

Room an property were clean they let us check the room before we checked in. The guy at the front counter was a little snippity but nothing to bad

Pay the extra an stay someplace else. Very not clean dated rooms. Hall smelled like urine. Whole place needs to be deep cleaned. Very disappointing stay. Sorry but should not be a wyndam hotel. Worst place

Worst hotel we ever stayed in. The family owned hotel is very very old with stinking dirty carpets. The non smoking rooms had a strong smoke smell. We woke up with allergy headache. The owners were helpful but took forever to check us in. Will not recommend this place. It’s no way a Wyndham standard

No trash containers in room, no cups for ice and water. no tv guide.
