Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre

The location of the hotel to the town centre was ideal. Lots of choices for breakfast

The room was very noisy, there was a lift cavity in the corner which was operating until 2am. The room was not as big as advertised. Carparking was a struggle, overall not worth the money charged.

The hotel was nice, clean, convenient. Our restaurant server, Tania, was excellent - helpful, professional, very nice.

The location , very close to the castle. Perfect location in Edinburgh.

Poor air conditioning. The room was uncomfortably hot, and opening the window did not help.

Raul in the restaurant was lovely. I am mainly writing this review to pay it forward to all who wrote reviews I used to plan this trip. Like many hotels this one has big pluses and minuses. It does have a lobby with sofas which is nice. The Castle view out the windows was amazing. Rooms were meh. Beds good bathrooms sparse and small. But there aren’t a ton of hotels in the middle pricing range that I could find that weren’t tiny tiny rooms. These rooms are decent sized for two. Hotels in Uk are astronomically priced right now and I kept having to remind myself this! Location is close to sight seeing.

We stayed at this hotel with our family, occupying two rooms, and unfortunately our experience fell well below the expectations one would associate with a brand such as Hilton. The only truly positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast service. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. They deserve our sincere thanks and appreciation. As for the rest of our stay, we encountered several issues, particularly regarding cleanliness and room maintenance. From the moment we arrived, the bathroom was not cleaned to the standard we expected, and throughout our stay the housekeeping service proved to be inadequate. On our final day, the room was not serviced at all. In the room occupied by four guests, only two bath towels and two face towels were regularly provided. We had to request the missing towels from reception several times, a situation that should not occur in a hotel of this category. The bed linens also left much to be desired, both in terms of quality and overall condition, and did not reflect the standards we expected. We chose this hotel because of Hilton’s reputation and the quality assurance typically associated with the brand. For that reason, our disappointment was even greater. We believe the property should carefully review its housekeeping standards and quality control procedures, as these are fundamental aspects of the guest experience. It is a shame, because the hotel has potential, but our overall stay was negatively affected by shortcomings that should not be present in a property of this level. We would also like to note that the bed sheets did not appear to meet the standards we would have expected from a hotel in this category.

Breakfast buffet was great!! The staff is so helpful and nice, especially our waiter Raul.
