The Dan Carmel Hotel

THE PROS The hotel is located in a great place and within a walking distance of many restaurants and shopping stores. The hotel is nice and clean, the amenities are great. Parking wasn't visible when we first arrived and we had to go around and get back again to it. The check-in process was smooth and good, the receptionist was nice too. The room was great and clean. The bed is really comfy too. The room is so big and we enjoyed it very much. The bathroom has both a shower and bath-tub with a window between the bedroom and bathroom so you can relax in the tub while watching tv for example. Breakfast is good ! The outdoor pool is great and clean, maybe a bit salty ! The staff were nice too. ----------------------- THE CONS ! We were there for our anniversary and I specially asked to have some sort of setup because I was surprising my wife and there was nothing done in the room which was very disappointing but yet I understand this is a complimentary and shouldn't hold it much against them. Someone woke us up at 8:30 AM to check the mini-bar Someone walked in the room without knocking the door and we were naked ! And no he wasnt one of the house-keeping staff which was very scary and uncomfortable. Once we reported this to the reception they sent us the Anniversary/Sorry cake ! On check-out they made us pay for the Hotel Parking, claiming that this is a private parking and the hotel doesnt have one. I guess $315 a night should include a parking fee !

Great one day stay with my husband. Big bed, nice room, has a shower and a bath, the staff was very nice, and the breakfast was very good

This is not a 5 star hotel let alone a 3 star. Staff was not welcoming. They dont provide extra towel until your done with the two provided. They were so cheap they didnt put garbage bags anywhere. They turned off the AC throughout the hotel because it was "expensive" electricity kept disconnecting on/off in the room. It was not clean nor vaccumed. The floor had hair and crumbs. The disposable slippers provided were used, had coffee stains on them. We requested new ones, they failed to provide. Overall very cheap staff. They attempted to charge us 250 shekel for parking when there was no space we parked on the street but we passed through their lot ao they assumed we parked. Ridiculous, hotel seems like theyre trying any way to make a buck and save money. Funky hallway smell as well. Cold breakfast coffee.

Love the hotel, the staff is great, restaurant nice, but the bathrooms need to be brighter, the magnifying mirror needs to light up, and there should be an electrical outlet for using a hair blower. We always stay at the Dan Carmel, but I'd love to see the upgrades.

This hotel is wonderful. Great location right near the Louis Promenade, Baha'i Gardens, and many restaurants. Super pool!! And fantastic breakfast. Staff was also wonderful. Chocolates and fruit upon arrival were a nice touch.

The room was nice, breakfast is always great in most hotels in Israel and no different at the Dan. 5 star is overrated! They will take your money but never address any issues if any arise. Never respond to emails. I will stay in a different hotel the next time in Israel.

they did not clean the room until late in the day. food was just ok (except friday night). front desk was friendly but DO NOT LEAVE A CREDIT CARD ON FILE if you can. if you must, have them sign that your bill is all paid in full. otherwise, you will need to deal with disputing charges because they will charge for taxes or anything they wish after you leave.

The pictures are deceiving. Hotel is dirty and totally outdated. This brand in Israel is horrible. All their hotels except for the Eilat property is in dire need of refurbishing. It is so bad, the public areas smell. The executive management team, by subjecting their guests to many sub standard conditions, is a disgrace to the Jewish state. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND!!!!!!

Very professional and sleek, easy check in and check out, lovely guestrooms, well-maintained and very clean. Proximity to the Baha'i gardens and views of the port city of Haifa make this a wonderful place to stay. Breakfast buffet was delicious and table service was prompt and courteous.
