Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort

Even though they are pet friendly we were not informed ahead of time that if we bring a dog we would be sequestered to the basement level. Walking down the hall smelt very musty, damp, and the carpet felt wet. Very musty smell in the air, and then they tried to cover it up with perfume smell. The room was the same way and the carpet felt damp. I went back to registration and ask the front desk what was going on. Very tight lipped and then I ask, has this level flooded? Then she had to admit it did flood a month ago. So, I get to pay full price with a flooded room and prices are pretty expensive. I said I would be unable to stay down there and due to conditions and I did not feel it was safe, or clean and the smell really bothered me. They did move me to the second floor. So be aware that they are not mentioning ahead of coming that it has flooded. I feel there are still water issues down there. It is more upsetting that they were not upfront about this situation and let me to figure it out! Also, the rude guests on the second floor had tv on all night at loud volume. The hotel is very dated, not decorated very nicely. The surrounding of the lake are pretty though. I do feel this hotel is overly priced for what I have witnessed so far and the deception really has dismayed me.

Location is beautiful and the resort has lots of Beaty overlooking the lake and the mountain. Room was nice but the dining room experience was very slow. Everyone was nice and friendly but service was slow, parking pass deal is crazy and causes issues as well as the resort fee is high,

I checked out early from this hotel because I did not feel safe remaining on the property. During my stay, a uniformed security staff member escorted/opened the door to my suite and then made inappropriate personal advances, including asking to connect personally after I had just arrived at my room. The interaction left me afraid to leave my room. The next morning, I checked out early and attempted to obtain confirmation of my early checkout. I was not provided clear documentation at the time. The manager failed to respond for a request to discuss the situation and refused to call me to resolve. The front desk staff stated that since this reservation was through Expedia, I needed to go through them to cancel and receive refund for the unused nights. When Expedia later contacted the hotel about my safety-related early checkout, the hotel front desk initially said no manager was available until the next day during one specific hour and that I would personally need to call back. When escalated through Expedia, the manager reportedly denied knowledge of both the incident and my early checkout. Expedia ultimately refunded my unused nights, but the hotel’s handling of the situation was deeply concerning. I would not recommend this property to solo women travelers or anyone who expects staff boundary issues to be taken seriously.

Do not stay here. The people working there made my family feel unsafe. If you are at a hotel you expect some reasonable boundaries as a guest.

The resort was very nice and staff were friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and the lake view was spectacular.
