Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead M1, Jct. 8 by IHG

The staff- everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. From the lady at breakfast who ensured we had enough food although we had to leave as breakfast started. To the male waiter at breakfast who we had fun chatting to about Harry Potter spells. Swimming pool, a properly hot jacuzzi and sauna were all great. Bedroom was clean and a good size for all 4 of us. Perfect location. Only a short taxi ride to an amazing Brazilian restaurant.

Room was clean and tidy. However, I requested a quiet room having had surgery and needed rest and sad day at my cousins funeral. I was in room 031, lower floor, end of corridor. Noisiest ever hotel stay. Next to door to gym and swimming pool so constant people traffic, doors banging, people in room above partying, teenage kids shouting in corridor outside my room.

More consideration for a quiet room, I.e. on upper level away from pool door. So damn noisy from people traffic I had about 3 hrs sleep if that. Radiator and central heating not working, only cold air blowing out. I used small oil heater in the room. Waited far too long at breakfast reception to be seated,gave up in the end and found a table. I asked for cost of breakfast to be taken off bill as gesture towards most awful nights sleep ever but not considered. Will never stay there again! Had to drive for 3 hrs on no sleep, 😡

Great service from the staff

Air con they couldn't turn off by the bar, so it made it very cold

Bed was comfy and shower was good

I paid for used of the lessors facilities and they were still under refurbishment after several weeks and the hot tub was closed. I could have stayed somewhere else without facilities so kind of wasted my money on this trip

Lovely hotel with added pool (although going through renovations) Breakfast was lovely.

Lovely, clean, fresh rooms. Friendly staff, nice food.
