Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel & Spa

The room looked tired and the TV was outdated with very few channels, breakfast was disappointing, I have stayed and enjoyed the hotel previously but was disappointed with this visit.

Beautiful building in an idyllic spot.

I was woken by the staff knocking insistently on the door. I hadn’t put the DND sign up but I wish they’d checked to know who had and who hadn’t checked out before waking me up. I desperately need sleep at a the moment and deprived me of a couple of hours.

Lovely building really close to the Shakespeare theatre, and to the town. Parking included in price and use of the gym and pool, always a bonus for me

Really badly dated. The food was horrendous. One of the worst burgers I have had. They need to replace where they get meat supply from and give chef some additional training for sure.

Expensive, run down, mediocre, needs massive investment, no English staff just using cheap labour, charged for parking, very small parking spaces, just fleecing visitors for a very poor stay
