Fairfield Inn & Suites Houston Humble

The hotel was very average. Aesthetically it was not that appealing. However, it was clean. Breakfast was below average.

Staff were very courteous. Greeted every time. House keeping were also very nice and the whole place was spotless.

Considering this is a Marriot hotel, I think we expected more. Check in was easy - and the staff were great. Super disappointed to find out the pool was closed as we checked in - the kids always want to end their day with a swim but it was closed for cleaning. Got to our room and the AC had been cranked - it was freezing cold - had to turn it down immediately. The beds were comfy and clean, and the bedroom area itself seemed clean. Pillows were lacking but that wasn't a big deal. Everyone had a decent sleep. The plug ins were awful - most of them wouldn't hold our plugs. We'd plug in a phone charger pr a curling iron and it would slip out. It was difficult to get the phones to charge or the curling iron to heat up without bracing something against it. The clock in the room wasn't plugged in and when my child went underneath to plug it in, there were plastic utensils and a napkin underneath. The bathroom was questionable at best. There was something stuck three-quarters of the way up on the wall by the bathroom door (like a used tissue or makeup wipe). Whatever it was, it was gross and didn't belong there. There seemed to be mystery stains on the counter top too. (We set our things on towels). Our sink leaked out the bottom so there was constantly water on the floor (we debated calling front desk but since other members of our party were also have issues with their rooms, we figured it wasn't an isolated event) so we just tossed extra towels under the sink and used the tub to wash hands/brush teeth/etc. The humidity in the room was crazy too. Even running the bathroom fan, it felt like everything was damp and never fully dried out. The breakfast area was great - there was enough selection of hot and cold items to keep everyone happy, however, there was a bible group present on our one morning there and the "leader" talked loud enough to talk over us and we felt like we were in church. It was a little much for breakfast but there was no one at the front desk to assist (and perhaps speak to the preacher). We ended up eating quickly, since we couldn't talk anyway, and left. The garbages were overflowing too and we stuffed as much as we could in. Not a place we'd recommend unfortunately. The Marriot banner meant nothing here.

The Night Reception was absolutely amazing.

The last two times we booked there we got a room we did not reserve. We asked for two Queen room and twice we get there and they telling us they only have a King Room. So twice my kids had to sleep on the floor.

Room was good. Staff was friendly.

I thought indoor pools were always heated. My mistake. My granddaughters swam 3 times while there. Two of the times they gave them hand towels to dry off with. Was not enough. Just think they should have pool towels for swimmers.
