The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel was renovated. I don't know when exactly. The rooms were spacious and lovely, but they lacked cleaning. The chair was dirty, and empty snack bags were found in the room, where I was not impressed. I hope they can fix that problem asap so I can come back here. Thank you!!

Clean rooms and facilities. Convenient location. The best part of the stay though was Carol at the front desk! This lady is a gem. Professional and friendly are only the beginning. This lady is one of a kind and knows her business and how to do a fantastic job.

Booked 6 months in advance for my son's wedding. Given an inadequate handicapped room. Bugs, water temp problems, noisy, dirty, no microwave, clock, or sofa. Bad lighting. Broken iron. Bad experience.

I booked this hotel while traveling on business. I was surprised because my husband and I travel often with Marriott and have Titanium status. We understand the differences between the Marriott brands and expect a certain standard at Courtyard. This property fell way short of that standard. (I suspect the building may have once been a different brand and was retrofitted into a Courtyard property because the entire property seemed off and the place has a remodeled feeling.) There was no closet in the room (you could see where it had been) but there was a long bar where you could have hung clothes/coat if there had been any hangers or hooks—maybe the bar is there for chin-ups? Weird. The only place to hang anything at all was behind the bathroom door and it was such a chintzy hook that the towel fell off immediately. The room had an updated decor but an old-school heater/fan unit and the finishing details in the bathroom were cheap. The towels were polyester that did not absorb water, etc. Bathroom shower was oddly narrow, maybe a former bathtub? The worst part of the stay was the noise. As far as I could tell, there were maybe 10-12 cars total in the parking lot, so you would think the place would have been quiet. However, the front desk must have clustered all the guests into one small area. I heard loud voices until past midnight, pulsating music, and people talking. I would have changed rooms but didn't want to pack up at the late hour and go down to the front desk. The lobby had had a burst pipe earlier in the day, so all the lobby furniture was askew and the rug by the elevator was so wet that water leaked through my boots when I stood on it. I don't think the front desk staff realized the rugs had also been flooded. When I checked out, there was no one at the front desk, so I dropped my key and then saw two employees smoking right in front of the double doors. That's just never a classy look. It had snowed during the night and the parking lot had been somewhat plowed but everything was still icy; salt or sand would have made walking to my car less treacherous. The one bright sport was that the housekeeper was very professional and friendly. COVID or no COVID, there's no excuse for this property's condition. And don't get me started that you can't even get a cup of coffee!!

Bathroom sink does not drain well. No trash receptacle in bedroom. Toilet is VERY low to floor. Toilet paper holder NOT functional..needs repair. Can use another lounge chair in bedroom (there is only one). Even before covid, all drink cups were protected by a wrapping...the COFFEE cups were NOT wraped to protect against disease...this is BAD!! TOO Expennsive for a room that has many shortcomings...we will NOT return here.

Upon arrival I tried to call front desk on room phone~~didn’t work. Concerns about wet rug ~~ walked to desk and reported both issues~~ no resolution but it was the weekend. Front desk was very pleasant and receptive. Also, sadly we were in a very noisy area~~ Room101 near reception, lounge and elevators. So much late night noise.

Based upon some of the recent reviews, I truly expected the worst for our two night stay at the Mt. Arlington Courtyard; but was pleasantly surprised by the condition and quality of the property and the professionalism of the staff. The Hotel, apparently, is a popular base for people attending destination weddings and other events in the area, and during our stay, the place hosted the quests for at least three weddings, as well as several families attending a sports tournament. Although I expected long lines and stressed out staff at the front desk, check-in and check-out were a breeze and the staff was efficient, courteous, helpful, and professional in all respects. Our room was large and most importantly, very clean, and while I am not a fan of the minimalist design, which, as others have pointed out, uses an exposed bar on the wall for hanging clothes instead of a traditional closet, this was not enough of a negative to ruin a normal person's stay. (Our room had at least eight, swivel-top hangers that allowed us to hang our cloths parallel to the wall. rather than perpendicular to the wall like in a standard closet.) The bathroom was on the smallish side, but had enough counterspace to serve our needs. The Wi-Fi connection was adequate and free of charge for the basic service (email and surfing the web) and $4.95 per day (free for Bonvoy Gold Elite Members or higher) for enhanced service (streaming, video games, etc.). Contrary to the complaints in other recent reviews, we had a full buffet breakfast each morning and the bar was open from early evening until at least 10 pm. Other than the breakfast buffet, however, there was no other food service available, which seems to be a trend in hotels of this class. And while the Hotel is under renovation, the work appears nearly complete and should not be an issue, particularly on weekends. My only complaint is that housekeeping could have done a better job cleaning the hallway outside our room, where there were scraps of paper and food droppings that remained in the same place during our stay, which the housecleaning staff could not have possibly missed when they cleaned the rooms on the floor. Overall, we have a very positive and pleasant stay at the Mt. Arlington Courtyard.

Covid remains an excuse for no service and no food at this Courtyard Hotel. But the real issue is the newly refurbished rooms. Minimalist furniture leaves only 2 small drawers for storage of anything in the room. No storage in the bathroom(only small countertop Nightstand have no drawer. Best of all their is no closet! Just what would normally be a bath grab bar mounted 6 feet up on a wall. Of course it only stands out 3 inches from the wall, so nothing can be hung perpendicular to the wall on a hanger- Wait, THEY DON'T provide any hangers either! So be prepared to live out of your suitcase when you stay here. This motel is used for many local weddings. To think that guests, wearing gowns and black tie, want to live out of their suitcases is ridiculous. Shame on Marriott. This place sucks!!!!!!!
