Great food, friendly staff nice building

Lovely stay, just a few little things such as no clean cups for coffee so takeaway cups in the leisure club, asked for a bottle of champagne for birthday celeb to be told they had none at that bar and would have to go to take main bar for it? Given Prosecco, had to cork myself. Main bar staff great, very attentive. Chocolate bomb desert is a round choc ice! But like I said, just the little things that make your stay great, could be better.

Hotel was fantastic, staff excellent, food brilliant, room lovely, spa great but busy when we went, signage around the hotel was lacking and due to the long winding corridors, it took us a couple of days to work out the most efficient routes between A & B.

We have stayed 3 times before this. And never seen this sort of experience for check in. It was a disaster honestly the que was round the main room. When we got there a few people had issues so the check in or there rooms. Quinn with two neuro divergent children was awful to get to the front and be told there isn’t a room available. Yet the couple with two children after us there room was done. We were told to wait. We got there at just before 3 and didn’t get checked in till nearly 4. That to me isn’t ok. The kids by then were dis regulated and it wasn’t the trip we had experienced or have had before.

The hotel was lovely and had a welcoming feel. The room was nice and spacious and very clean. The food and hospitality was an amazing.

The hotel was a fantastic old building, our room was sizeable enough, however the cons were: Step in bath/ shower, ripped period chair, furniture, chipped. It was booked as a stopover hotel and suited our needs.

New year eve check in was utter chaos understandably busy but all the same disorganised. Only one small lift for any room access totally inadequate. Asking room cleaning to return after 30 minutes returned late to find room not serviced at all. All in all hotel generally ok but not New Year’s Eve!

Decent wine list. Reasonable prices, good food in the restaurant.

lovely place to stay will definitely be back

Staff are nice. They offered me free room upgrade because of 20 mins late and decorate the room for our anniversary. Which is great. Only thing i am disappointed is there is no fridge in the room and no water or toiletries supplement apart from hand wash and shower gel.
