"2 nights stay in June 2026"

8.0

Visited Carmel Valley Ranch for our anniversary, and overall it was a very nice stay. Carmel Valley is a beautiful area to visit, relax, and enjoy a short getaway. Highlights: • Beautiful ranch-style property with plenty of space • Great location in Carmel Valley • Upgraded to a suite, but chose the Oak Studio because of the outdoor soaking tub • Outdoor tub was a great feature • Lots of included activities around the ranch • Easy garden/feed hiking trail, very doable and enjoyable • Friendly staff overall • Jeff, one of the lead staff members, was professional, kind, and very helpful As an Explorist member, I appreciated the upgrade option. We were offered a suite, but we decided to stay in the Oak Studio because the suite did not have an outdoor tub. The room was comfortable, although we could hear footsteps from the room above. It was noticeable but not too bothersome. The property itself is beautiful, with acres of ranch space and various activities included. We enjoyed visiting the garden and doing the feed/hiking trail, which was easy and relaxing. It is definitely a nice place for couples, families, or anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. One issue was the EV charging information. The website showed complimentary EV charging for non-Tesla vehicles with valet parking, but during check-in there seemed to be confusion among the staff. I was told it was no longer free and that only two hours of complimentary charging may be offered. However, the website seemed to state otherwise, so this information should be updated or clarified for guests. Thankfully, Jeff stepped in and handled the situation professionally. He was able to accommodate us and fully charge the vehicle, which I really appreciated. The only disappointing part was the first-night valet interaction regarding EV charging. The valet staff member did not seem very caring or guest-focused at that time. However, Jeff made a big difference and turned the situation around with excellent service. Breakfast at Valley Kitchen was complimentary for Globalist members. The menu was somewhat limited, and one morning they offered a regular-style buffet. It was not anything too special, but the staff were kind and welcoming. Overall, Carmel Valley Ranch is a beautiful and relaxing property with great activities and a peaceful atmosphere. There were some communication issues with EV charging, but the way Jeff handled it made the experience much better. Highly recommend, especially for a relaxing anniversary or weekend trip.

"Great resort, not so great food or customer service"

6.0

The resort was great, lots of amenities, great for the kids, the food is subpar at the pool. One incident happened at the pool and the manager assured me that he would be in touch and I never heard back from them.

"Great stay in Carmel area"

8.0

Carmel Valley ranch was beautiful. The resort is a bit dated but the setting makes up for it. We played golf one afternoon and enjoyed it thoroughly. Only complaint was the service was slow in the restaurant and the schedule of the provided shuttle that runs through the resort. This resort is on the top of a hill and walking to the different areas can be a challenge for some. Knowing when the shuttles are coming and going would be a nice improvement.

"Good property but not as expected to be a category 8"

6.0

The property is maintained well. The staffs in the activities are experienced and friendly. However, there are several things that I don't believe this resort is a category 8 level resort. 1. Wrong bill for checks - our final invoice has a dinner check we never ordered; 2. not a great place for young kids -> no place to take naps when the late checkout is unavailable 3. I filled information before hands but there is no follow ups on activities recommendations and how to attend those activities 4. safety issues: when we were having breakfast at the restaurant with a 2-year-old. We were brought to a couch with low tables. No high chair is available and it is very easy that the 2-year-old falling off the couch. I think all those details need to be improved to demonstrate this is a high end family friendly resort.

"Stunning views, beautiful rooms, excellent service"

10.0

The whole place is stunning, from the golf course to the vineyard. There are activities planned at all times, including hikes and bonfire smores. Our room was beautiful and super clean, and we enjoyed a beautiful clear view of the hills and golf course. Our only regret was not booking another night.

"Cali vibes for a family vacay"

10.0

Overall excellent place and perfect for a family vacation. The Ranch grounds are gorgeous. I don’t golf but I wanted to start given how beautiful the course was. So many fun activities for adults and kids of all ages. Our kids looooved the little ranchers and bee-lieve in fairies party. Breakfast at the lodge restaurant was great with good service, excellent food, and big portions. Our daughter loved the pancakes and I loved the egg sandwich. They have a huge buffet on the weekend. Oh and the coffee is fantastic, so smooth. The Lobby “Market” also had a bunch of great coffee drinks and pastries. The adult pool is super nice, heated, has awesome views, has an outdoor bar, and is open 24 hours. The kids pool is also great and has very nice locker rooms. Less than 20 minute drive to Carmel and the Monterey aiport. Only downside was the dinner at the Lodge did not have great service even at 5pm when it was virtually empty, relatively limited menu, and forgot my parents meal…I’m guessing this was a fluke but it was our only dinner experience there. So many awesome places to eat in Carmel though. I also wish they had a shuttle to the city but certainly not necessary. Overall a great experience and will be visiting again!

"Kicking out infants for no reason."

2.0

We were trying to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with our two month old infant. We wanted to hang at the nice pool by the lodge but we were kicked out even though our two month old didn’t make a peep. We had tried the family pool the day we arrived but all the other kids playing in the pool having fun was just a little overwhelming for our baby. Hence why we wanted to be at the calmer pool. We paid a lot of money to stay here to then have to go down the lower pool that turns out is also open to public memberships. When I brought it up to Carlos, a manager, he promised he would help us out. But we never heard anything from him. It ruined our whole experience. I understand you don’t want kids playing in the lodge pool, but you’re really going to kick out an infant who was making no fuss or noise? Terrible customer service. Never coming back.

"Stunning resort with great customer service"

10.0

Our stay at Carmel Valley Inn Resort was fantastic from start to finish. The customer service was exceptional—every staff member was friendly, attentive, and eager to help. The resort was beautifully maintained, and our room was spotless and comfortable. We loved the variety of amenities, including the pools, spa, and dining options. There were plenty of activities to keep us entertained, especially the baby, who enjoyed the farm animals and activities, outdoor games, and pool areas. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and fun, and we can’t wait to return.
