Fletcher Hotel Restaurant Victoria-Hoenderloo

There is one Dutch speaking woman at the reception, she was willing to help us and was friendly.

We had contact with this hotel through the booking.com app about if an early check-in was possible. After communicating back and forth about what time it is possible to check-in early (it’s an additional €15), I tried to confirm with the hotel if adding my early check-in was set. However, they quit responding through booking.com, so I had to message them again. Still no answer, so we just went to the hotel on the day we booked it. When we arrived early, there was a man at the reception totally not willing to help us at all. First of all, it is odd that the receptionist is not able to speak Dutch, in a hotel in THE NETHERLANDS. Second, he did not want to hear our side of how we experienced the communication with the hotel and was not willing to look into the chat (which was our proof that the hotel stopped responding). He just said that “he doesn’t know who we contacted and early check-in is not possible”. He didn’t let us finish our sentence and just told us to “go outside and wait until we can check-in at 3pm”. Mind you, this was during the heatwave CODE ORANGE in the Netherlands. A VERY unfriendly employee. Luckily his female colleague, who was able to speak Dutch, was willing to help. She listened to our story and actually apologised for the abrupt quitted communication and even gave us a voucher for a free welcome drink at their restaurant. While all this was not even her fault. So tell me, how was it not possible to check-in early with this male receptionist but the female receptionist was able to? He also never apologised for his behaviour and just said to his colleague “ah sure ok, that’s an option” and never looked at us again. Additionally, there is no airconditioning, in the room there was a super small fan which was not enough to give some cool wind. So rethink if you want to stay here during summer.

L'accesso alle camere al 1 piano delle strutture era molto scomodo per fortuna avevo un bagaglio molto piccolo. in camera manca il climatizzatore

De ligging

Er was geen warm water, dat is niet fijn wanneer je fris gedoucht op je afspraak wil verschijnen. Het zou mij minder hebben gestoord, wanneer er nadat ik dit gemeld had bij de receptionist, die het heeft opgeschreven en het erg “weird” vond er nog iets van zou hebben vernomen en netjes gecompenseerd zou zijn. Zeker omdat ik er een mail over stuurde. Naast dit was er in de slaapkamer een enorm grote plaat tegenover het bed, waar ooit een flatscreen had gezeten. Dit was nog te zien omdat grote bevestigingsbeugel er pontificaal hing. Misschien een schilderij eroverheen? Het leek alsof onze kamer in aanbouw was. Een wc, waar nog geen wc in stond. De meterkastdeur die klemde en niet gesloten kon worden. De sensor van de badkamer was erg goed, de afzuiging heeft de hele nacht aangestaan. Onnodig, want geen heet water. Ik zag ook geen koelkastje in de kamer, maar wellicht heb ik daar overheen gekeken. De kamer is echt een huisje dus dat zou handig zijn.

Era tutto bellissimo, il posto un incanto. Peccato aver fatto solo una notte.

Betaalbaar hotel op een prachtige locatie. De opzet van losse blokken met hotel kamers is goed gekozen in deze natuurlijk omgeving. Ontbijt is eenvoudig maar prima

De kamer had airconditioning, maar die stond heel zuinig afgesteld (was niet aan te passen) zodat het vanwege het waarmee weer toch wel erg warm was. Geen handdoeken bij het zwembad.

The hotel location is excellent, right in the middle of the forest. It is peaceful and quiet, with spacious rooms and a terrace overlooking the forest.

The staff at the reception desk were not friendly at all.
