Lovely garden to sit in the sun and enjoy a drink. Swimming pool and gym connected and usage included in the room rate.

Room could do with a lick of paint and having the damaged window replaced. Many of the lockers in the pool changing room had the locks broken and the key I was given seemed to open every locker which were extremely flimsy and could easily be pulled open. Don’t take any valuables into the changing rooms if you are worried about their security.

Breakfast was good

Wait to check in. Room was dated. Wall paper coming off. Room smelled of damp. Lights not working. Leisure facilities not working again very dated.

Good reception, bar and restaurant area. Staff friendly and polite. A bit slow and chaotic checking in. Rooms warm and bed comfortable. Decor dated and bathrooms need upgrading. Shower over bath made inaccessible by fixed shower screen with shower and controls unreachable unless you get in bath first. Flush on toilet was broken and had to be pumped to be half effective. Reported it to reception twice but still the same when we checked out. Breakfast disappointing cooked breakfast not hot enough on first day and plates cold. Second day breakfast followed two weddings the day before and staff and kitchen couldn’t cope. Continental breakfast ran out of cheeses, sourdough and croissants and promises of replenishment never happened. The grounds are beautiful and vast and there is plenty of parking but I think this hotel is not up to 4 star standard. Breakfast should be served not self service and rooms should be updated along with bathrooms. No complaints about staff attitude which was warm and friendly in spite of our complaints.

Enjoyed our stay. Staff are lovely.Facilites really good, poo, jacuzzi, small gym and fantastic garden. Parts of hotel in need of repair or redecoration, otherwise excellent.

It’s in a lovely location hidden away, ample parking and the building from the outside looks nice. The kids too was a fantastic idea The shower was very powerful There was a bag left in the room for my so. Which was a nice touch

We brought our 3 dogs with us and booked a family room over 2 nights for a wedding held at the hotel. We were put on top floor with 3 dogs and a 4 year old child. The room its self is very dated and there is mould in the bathroom, tiles could do with replacing, no storage space in the bathroom apart from one tiny shelf. The coat hook fell off the wall by the front door so was just for display The kids room was a great idea but my son wanted to use the chalk board and there was no chalk. Parts of the toys were missing so I think you either do the room and make sure the children can make good use of it or you don’t and make it into storage. There is no storage in the room and the room is quite large again the decor is a little dated. One of the dimmable bedside lights by the main bed didn’t work, which was then just a faff trying to keep our son asleep with main lights on. A lot of chargers are now usb and the room could do with a couple of the face plates being changed from a double socket to ones with usb and usbc! Also to have plug sockets next to the bed would be beneficial! Then there is the member of staff that walked into our room whilst i was getting ready which is absolutely unacceptable!! And then whilst we were at the wedding our card got deactivated so we couldn’t gain access to our dogs which again is unacceptable. I also don’t rate that in the bar whilst everyone is having drinks for the wedding they put a sign up saying “rate us 5 * and get a free shot. It’s really misleading and when you are reading reviews they are not correct! It’s a shame the place has unbelievable potential to be a top notch hotel when the amount you are paying for a night is matched.

The room was very large the bed was comfortable

The majority of the staff were great and the food was good.

Was very tired! It badly needs updated. The bath felt very unstable like you were going to fall through the floor. The wall paper was coming down in the bedroom and peeling throughout the hotel. The hotel was very noisy all night no soundproofing between rooms
