Hampton Inn Greenville/Travelers Rest

Shower was horrible, little to no water pressure. Toilet had a remote? Tried to be upscale and failed miserably

Quiet and clean with good A/C however just enough “misses” to make for a low quality experience. We did not have a proper closet, just a rod attached to the wall. Decor is dated and shabby. Door and countertops scuffed and damaged. Piped in music in the hallways was too loud and woke us up. Food trucks only come on Thursdays meaning breakfast items like fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, milk substitutes and cereal are out of stock by Monday. Housekeeper Tracy confirmed we were “on the list” however our room was not serviced, trash not emptied. Saw other guests complaining to manager Marilyn about the loud music and poor housekeeping service. Pool was closed. Computer was down at check-in preventing our room keys from being made, we were given a “temporary key” until it was fixed. Sanjana did not offer water or other information upon check in, we had to ask and she seemed annoyed by our requests. Credit card charged $50 immediately for “incidentals”, Sanjana was rather rude when questioned about the hold charge.

The staff was attentive, nice and accommodating. The hotel appeared to have been recently refitted and the bedding and linens were fresh but the bathroom was not clean, the heated bidet was a huge turnoff, and the entire room had the mildewy, farm-y smell like an old abandoned barn. The pool was filthy and did not appear to touched once during our 4 day/3 night stay

The fan in the bathroom was on all the time and was exceptionally noisy. Interfered with our sleep. Also, we thought the price for our one night stay was much too much for a chain hotel.

The room was clean, the microwave was unplugged so I had to move it to the desk, the HVAC was either too hot or too cold (could not find a comfortable spot) the security lock was stuck in the closed position, breakfast was adequate. When I wanted to pay cash for my stay I was told they do not take cash 😢. It was a quiet getaway anyway.

The shower doesn't look like it gets clean often. It was challenging to get shampoo and conditioner for the room since the ones in the were empty.

The breakfasts were delicious, with choices for everyone and a four hour window in which to get it. That helped a lot as the trip really tired us out.

Front desk person was great very nice!

Room and hotel was great and clean. But I booked a king and not 2 queens and because I booked through hotels com they wouldn't accommodate a change

The room was large and clean but only had 1 chair. And low lighting. Not great for older eyes. They had a very unusual toilet, a toilet with remote control, heated seat and many features that we would never use. And no instructions. Breakfast was OK.
