Hampton Inn Sturgis-Lagrange Area

Ive been to many of your properties i have never experienced such bad service. I checked in on Friday night late. I asked the front desk person if i could bring my step kids and some friends swimming. He replied as long as there no other guests it would be fine. Saturday morning i was threatened to be kicked out because we went swimming. They had all left. Next day morning i ask the same lady that kicked all out of the pool and asked if my wife, kids and i played cards n board games in the lobby. She replied absolutely not i didn't understand her and NO ONE is allowed on the property but checked in guests. Again treated to kick me off the property. I tried to set the heat N ac but the unit on the wall did NOTHING. it was for looks as we couldn't control the temperature in are room that made it very difficult to get sleep.

Tweeter was roaming the hall looking into stuff. Front desk did nothing about the drunks in the hallway by our room bang around, being extremely loud, and slamming doors from11:30pm-3am. Would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor than the bed that was hard as a rock! Picture by the bed fell off of the wall and onto my kids in the middle of the night & gave us all a heart attack. Mystery stains on the walls in the bathroom. Water damage on the ceiling by the fire alarm. Heated pool was ice water and not heated.

Worst Hilton check in experience EVER! Crabby clerk. Didn't thank me for being a diamond member. Didn't offer free snack or water. Didn't inform about breakfast and when it was. Honestly, she was bothered that I was checking in. And I would have checked in myself but it wasn't available on the app. In this day and age, if you don't like what you do, change it. But no reason to tarnish a perfectly good brand by being a crab ass! I rated the hotel a 2 BUT the room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was very fresh and nice variety.

We were in Sturgis for a wedding we arrived Friday afternoon. Easy to find right, off of 80/90, on the state line. We enjoyed visiting the Amish, lakes and small towns. Local restaurants and bars provided a wonderful time. The hotel’s breakfast and daily cookies were fantastic.

Only elevator was broken on arrival and we were on an upper floor- pictures of property showed a jacuzzi but there was none. We always book with Hampton Inn when there is one in the area, but I would not recommend this one to anyone

Morning staff person aloof & unfriendly. Question wasn’t answered!

Older Hampton, convenient to Interstate 90/80. Room somewhat worn and had a disinfectant smell. Desk attendant competent, but not as friendly as most Hampton desk attendants. No mention of Hilton Honors status. Pool (appeared larger than average) but no Hot tub. 1 elevator, which was out of commission. We stayed on the first floor so it was not an issue. They had cookies. The room was worn, the bed was uncomfortable, sagged toward the middle. This is the first time Hilton brand hotel I have stayed at where the bed was an issue. Table on both sides of the bed, but only one had electrical connections. The room was in need of a refresh/update. The breakfast was much better than average with multiple choices and well stocked. Had to drive a ways to find dinner.

Stayed with family. Arrived to find the elevator was out of service, and per the clerk it had been for a while. No apologies or offer to help with carrying bags upstairs. Room was ok from a cleanliness standpoint, although nightlight didn’t work. Bathroom only had one bar of soap. Breakfast buffet was ok, although out of coffee cups. Limited buffet selection as crowd seemed to overwhelm.

I was treated like a second class citizen because I booked through a third party. I reserved a king room, and then was told I could only have 2 queens and that was more expensive. I did get a king but only after a fight.
