Hampton Inn Shelbyville

We traveled to Indiana to visit our children and grandchildren. I have been a Hilton Honors member for several years because we always know what type of facility that we will be getting. Unfortunately, this trip failed to deliver the Hilton quality that we are accustomed to. In our first room, the electrical outlets in the bathroom did not work as well as the outlet on the wall adjoining the bathroom. We figured we could live with that. Next, the shower handle would only turn so far, and the water would not go past warm. We don't complain about much, so we didn't mention it that day. On our floor, I discovered the ice machine wasn't working. After the second day of our stay, we told the front desk, and the lady was very nice and said that she would move our room. We packed up and moved a few doors down to another room. It was fine, but the sink would barely drain. It just seemed like a comedy of errors, but not what we have been accustomed to while staying in the Hilton brand. I would like to mention that the staff were very nice and helpful, but they could only do so much. I just think that this particular hotel needs to be updated to meet the Hilton standards.

I didn't like the plastic cutlery at breakfast

We were almost put off by the negative reviews but we are very glad we decided to make our own judgment. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable as was the bed. Breakfast was good with good food choices. We look forward to staying here again.

Accommodations and staff were in keeping with the Hilton brand, as well as breakfast.

Whoever did their remodel should have been fired. It was horrible. My middle schooler could have done better. Very disappointed. Old outlets and fixture accesses were not patched, just wallpapered right over them. Baseboards not butted up together, adhesive blobs on floor etc
