Hampton Inn by Hilton Irvine East - Lake Forest

First room assigned when checking in , I had to immediately request a different room because of unsanitary conditions. There was dried up blood on the bathroom door and the room had a foul smell. The newly assigned room seems a bit better, but also the bed sheets and pillows had a bad odor. I requested if someone can change out the sheets while I was out of the room the next day, and as I arrived later that evening I noticed the sheets had not been changed.

Not really up to Hilton standards. Needs updating. Was disappointed to see stained carpeting, torn and older chairs, lamp missing, dirty jacuzzi & old painted walls. Adequately clean & comfortable mattress. Delicious hot breakfast & clean breakfast lobby area. Far distance from beach area.

Everything went well during my stay and I would gladly return here again.

The staff was very nice and the rooms were nicely updated. Many dining options and shopping nearby. Complimentary breakfast options limited.

It was convenient!

Third stay and will be back.

I inspected my room 103 and found bedbugs on the headboard. I informed the front desk about the bedbug activity. I am an exterminator and I have a lot of knowledge in this area. I found human hair on and under the bedsheets, which were not clean. The elevator was out of order the next morning and I was on the third floor with a heavy suitcase that I had to carry down three flights of stairs. The front desk did not even offer to reimburse for my stay. I would never advise anyone to stay in this hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful. However, the thin white curtains in the room's window were torn from a previous guest - not a huge issue, as the drapes mounted in front of them could block the window just fine. The sun shade was off its track, there was a used candy wrapper on the floor under the drapes, and the window AC had a heavy layer of dust inside the fins. Fortunately, the weather was such that said AC ran only once for a few minutes as far as I'm aware. All of these are things I come to expect when traveling, as I know cleaning staff are usually rushing to get things done and can miss things. I understand they're human, and such is life. What I don't understand is the fire alarm going off late in the morning. As I was packing up, someone activated it, and I asked a maid what was happening, and she said it was being tested, and not to worry. She then continued cleaning. Maybe it's different there, but everywhere I've ever been during a test, everyone is expected to evacuate as if it were a real fire. Not continue with business as usual. NONE OF THAT HAPPENED that day. I am genuinely concerned about that. My stay was the night of March 25th/26th, 2025.
