Nightcap at Exeter Hotel

Small, but comfortable, room. Near to the beach, but easy to get into the city by train. Good economical option.

Doors to the terrace were looked and the terrace was unusable because it was apparently unsafe. There were no other opening windows, therefore no access to fresh air. It's an old building that would benefit from some updating.

The bed was comfy

No reception desk - using a phone to call staff up to check us in, no tissues in the room, shitty soap - we ended up buying our own soap, the towels were rough, vomit in the carpark, also having to walk through the bottle-o and past the pub to get into the hotel, cobweb and dead spider in the bathroom, chipped paint, shitty internet - kept buffering, couldn’t log into Netflix because there was overdue payment on the account, no bowels/plates or cutlery in the room, the generator or something was right by our room and was so loud - kept waking us up.

The food was good, the pub was filled with local characters. Staff was lovely and rooms fresh and clean.

Size of space, facilities available. Convenient location for booked activities at Port Adelaide an Largs Bay. Provision of drink voucher and meal discount was a bonus

On arrival, waiting for some time to be let in. I did arrive during dinner service for hotel. Cold bottled water was provided while waiting, but felt a bit vulnerable as a female waiting in that space - a bit shabby at entry and out of view. Car parking tricky on arrival and detached from property.
