The staff were waiting for us at the road entrance to help with valet parking and luggage. Pack light as the access is via stairs. Amazing staff who guided us on the facilities and the room until we were settled. Dinner &breakfast served in dining area. We had sukiyaki dinner-inform them early about allergies or restrictions. We ordered 1 western breakfast and 1 Japanese breakfast(salmon).

The staff could not have been friendlier and more accommodating. They were lovely! Best part of the stay.

We paid over $3,000 for two nights here. Granted, it was peak season. The actual property is pretty old and dated, and there are no outside grounds to wander or enjoy, except for the outdoor onsen. The shared onsen is very mediocre. Breakfast and dinner were included, which were really nice. My only complaint is that they charged us extra for every drink -- beer, soda, even OJ with breakfast! At $1500 a night, I'd expect a few drinks to be included. We were also disappointed that the meals are not actually served in your room, like a traditional ryokan, as we understood it. Overall, the room was fine, but the shared facilities and property grounds do not warrant the price tag.
