"Great for Families"

8.0

Can't beat the ski in/ski out location; front desk staff amazing - we checked in early and had access to the pool and hot tubs while waiting for room; very clean and well-kept hotel which says a lot due to the hotel showing its age; breakfast incredible but expensive; love this property

"Do not go"

2.0

Outdated and understaffed hotel that nickel and dimes guests at every turn. I was fine paying in excess of $1.5k a night, $50+ per person for a mediocre breakfast buffet and $25 per cocktail BUT having to pay $10+ in quarters(!!) to use their 1980s washer and dryer crossed the line. The ski in/out benefit did not outweigh the negative hotel experience. A one and done experience for me.

"Mixed experience."

8.0

(i) First unpleasant experience with the front desk. I called the front desk and asked for my packages (about 30) to be sent to my room 2006. The employee Jacob replied that he would require me to provide the tracking number for each package!!! A month before check-in, I sent an email to the friendly Concierge asking for instructions on how to send my purchases to the hotel; he responded promptly, providing me with the address to send the packages, and did not require me to provide the tracking number for each package when I went to pick them up! Why did he need the tracking number if all the packages were sent in my name? (ii) Second unpleasant experience with the front desk. My wife asked a blonde front desk employee to call a taxi to take her to Vail. The lady said she could not do that! And the reason was that she required a credit card. (iii) Great experience with the front desk: when I called again to ask for my packages to be taken to my room, an employee named Dragon quickly took them without asking for a tracking number but only checking my name as the recipient on each package. (iv) Another excellent experience with the front desk: the clothes dryer did not work with our credit card, and my wife went to the front desk to ask for help. The employee, Maria, accompanied us to the dryer and made it work by paying with coins, not a credit card. (v) Other excellent employees: we liked the breakfast servers (I remember the name of one of them: Mauricio) and also the guys who made omelettes. At dinner, the waiter, Christian exceeded our expectations.

"Park Hyatt BC delivers on the family ski vacation!"

10.0

The Park Hyatt at Beaver Creek delivered on the family friendly ski vacation! We enjoyed 5 nights there with our tween daughters and would absolutely stay there again. The hotel is beautiful and the access to the mountain can’t be topped. We rented ski equipment and never had to cart it around as it was sent right to the Hyatt ski valet where we could come and go each morning swapping out our shoes for boots and walking mere feet to pick up our skis before getting in line for the gondola. The daily breakfast was well run and had so many offerings. We enjoyed lunch and dinner at 8100 and loved the Brass bar setting for drinks and nibbles. The rooms were well appointed and we were ecstatic to see ceiling fans and humidifiers which the staff filled up during cleaning to combat the dry mountain air. My husband and I both had spa treatments and were impressed by the spa amenities. The outdoor pool area has 5 jacuzzis so there was always one available for our family. We loved our stay at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek!

"Unbeatable Ski-in Ski-out Facilities"

8.0

I think this is our sixth or seventh stay at the Park Hyatt over the last seven years (not including Covid). As usual, the thing that sets this hotel apart from any other in the Vail Valley and almost all ski resorts in the US is the literal ski in ski out. The hotel is always crowded, but generally does a very good job of managing the crowds in the lobby, bar, restaurants and at the ski valet. I stayed on points this time as a Hyatt Globalist (top tier). That got me two breakfasts daily. This hotel is allowed to opt out of a lot of the other benefits of the program. We rented our ski gear at Gorsuch; don't know why you would rent anywhere else. The work w/ the Hyatt ski valet to get the gear to and from the valet at the start and end of your trip. We ate at the Brass Bear for a lunch and a dinner, at 8100 for a lunch, and at 8100 for three breakfasts. All of the prices are, as to be expected, expensive. The food at Brass Bear and 8100 is a bit more foo-foo than what it has been in prior years; apparently there is a new chef. There was and likely is something for everyone though. The service in Brass Bear was always pretty efficient. The lunch at 8100 was lousy service as was one of our three breakfasts - servers going MIA, taking forever to return with requests, etc. The physical hotel is in good shape and they keep the lobby very attractive and make updates. The guest rooms have not seen an update since our first stay in 2018. We were assigned an ADA room, which is a bit larger than a standard room and has a nice large shower. The bed, which is lower to the floor for an ADA room, was what I like to call a Lizzo Bed. It seems like someone very large has spent numerous hours sitting on the edge of the bed. I recall thinking the mattresses are in need of replacement last year. The ski valet staff are absolutely amazing. They help with boots (off and on if needed) and are quick to take and retrieve ski equipment. Again, this is part of why we will absolutely return to this hotel. My daughter and I used the workout room, which is amazing and is shared with the residences and some other condo units in the village. The equipment is well maintained and there is plenty of everything.

"WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!"

3.0

asked for early check in at 9:30am came back at 3:45pm to find my luggage out at the lobby still and the check in had not even been made. room was not ready and i stated i wanted to cancel since nothing had been done. the manager was very rude and spoke to me very disrespectfully. i asked him to calm down and sit down and he advised he wouldn't. i would NEVER stay here again. staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. they act like they're the ones paying almost 2k to stay here and they're the ones that work there and should facilitate our stay. the room was dirty. my kids found old room keys and a toy ball under the night stand and in between the curtains.

"Great hotel, but they need to get things operating in a better way. Takes the edge off 'premium'."

7.0

Excellent location, slope-side and very close to the village. Rooms were clean and comfortable, although housekeeping was very hit and miss. The hotel has a nice large pool and 5 hot tubs. The bar area was pleasant, although could not accommodate the numbers of people. There were fire-pits outside which were fun to make S'mores in. The ski concierge was very useful and staffed with very friendly and helpful people. We had some initial teething problems when we arrived, however the hotel reception and admin staff were very helpful in sorting them out.

Overall the hotel was quite impersonal, which became worse as our stay progressed, mainly due to the number of guests arriving. Although the hotel was a lovely place to be in, the common areas were not big enough to accommodate everyone as the hotel filled up. The restaurant and bar menus were very limited and extortionately priced for what was on offer. Our experience of when we did use the restaurant was not great, (eg. they brought out the starters after the main course, slow service etc), so we didn't continue to eat in the hotel. We also decided not to have breakfast within the hotel as it was extortionately priced for us at $49 per person per day, including children over 12. This may be acceptable fo others, but as 4 of us were staying for 12 days, it would have cost us thousands, which was too much for a bowl of oatmeal and a coffee. The d]selection of items on offer was excellent, but we are not big breakfast eaters. Washing facilities were available, but all were chargeable, which is odd for a premier ski resort. Also, on our first attempt of trying to do some laundry, 3 out of the 3 washing machines were not working, although each machine did take a payment. Reception were helpful and managed to get one working for us and did refund the extra charges, but this was after much to-ing and fro-ing. The hotel in principle was a lovely place to stay, but with all the small issues, our stay wasn't relaxing. However, having said that, the hotel did try and resolve all our issues. It was just annoying that we had so many.

My family stayed here before the Christmas weekend and had a good time. We only experienced one hiccup at check-in where once we got to our room the key would not work. Took about 30 minutes to resolve but once situated, everything was fine. We are a family of 3 and booked a suite (Jack Scott) that met our needs. Very spacious and comfortable for everyone. There wasn’t a lot of details online about layout but it’s 1 king bed in a separate bedroom, the living area hosts a queen sleeper sofa with dining table, 2 bathrooms and separate kitchen nook. Would’ve been nice if there were instructions for the fireplace. It was a beautiful aesthetic but didn’t actually work (or we couldn’t figure it out). I also wasn’t crazy about the balcony view which faced the front of the hotel. Would’ve preferred a slope side but wasn’t a deal breaker since we weren’t in the room a lot. The property boasted a lot of activities for guests to partake in so everyone had something to do. My family really enjoyed the fireside S’mores moment. The convenience of other surrounding events also made this a great option. Would stay here again if visiting back in the area.
