It's not as good as expected. It's just fine. The cost and experiences didn't match the expectations. Good for a conference stay

Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Chicago June 4–7, 2026 We visited Chicago for the annual Pokémon GO Fest, which was held at Grant Park this year. We typically stay at the Park Hyatt, but it was sold out for our travel dates, so we decided to try Hyatt Regency McCormick Place instead. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the hotel's grand lobby. Despite checking in fairly late (around 8:30 PM), the process was quick and efficient. One small touch I appreciated was the fresh fruit-infused cold water available in the lobby throughout the day. There's also a Starbucks conveniently attached to the hotel's market area, making it easy to grab coffee or snacks before heading out. We didn't end up dining at the hotel's restaurant, as the menu didn't particularly stand out to us. We stayed in an Executive Suite, and here are our thoughts: Pros: Fantastic views of both the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan/harbor, especially from the 31st floor. The suite was spacious with a clean, modern, minimalist design. The bathroom had excellent lighting. The shower featured a thoughtful metal footrest, something I haven't seen before. It made shaving legs much easier and safer. Cons: Complimentary bottled water is only provided to elite members. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud, even on the lowest fan setting. Surprisingly, there was no full-length mirror despite this being a suite. The bathroom could benefit from additional hooks for hanging used towels, and robes were not provided. Storage space was somewhat awkward. The room could use more dresser space, as the three low drawers located outside the bathroom were inconvenient to access. The Wi-Fi was unstable throughout our stay. My work laptop was unable to connect because the network is not password-protected, which can create compatibility issues with some corporate security settings. Overall, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place offered spacious accommodations, beautiful views, and a convenient location. While there were several thoughtful touches, a few practical room features and the unreliable Wi-Fi kept the experience from feeling truly premium.
